...if you were to pop your clogs tomorrow.. what would you hope people would instinctively remember you for...and would it be what you want them to remember you by ?
..and do you think you will be remembered for those things ?There is no doubt in my mind my son will miss me a lot. I want to be remembered as being a person who knew how to love; who had a wacky sense of humor; who really cared about the great issues of my time.
..and some peole will remember you for being a very loyal, caring , and wise friend...I expect my husband, children, grandchildren and friends will remember that I loved them deeply, was generous and fun to be around, and threw parties at the drop of a hat.
Kids who worked for our company will always remember us as being patient and fun. A great first job. (Many are still in touch and tell us that's how they feel.)
Strangers might remember me for paying for their groceries when they were short.
Service people might recall that I was a generous tipper.
More than that I cannot ask.
I love British expressions!...if you were to pop your clogs tomorrow.. what would you hope people would instinctively remember you for...and would it be what you want them to remember you by ?
Not really sure tbh Star... Maybe that I was always generous to a fault, even when I had nothing myself, I would give all of it to someone else in more need.. For being an absolute Warrior when needed, someone who would do everything to protect family and friends.. for being loyal ( above all else) trustworthy and Brave... for being as good a mum as I knew how to be.. and doing it alone.. and most of all be remembered for producing the beautiful daughter I haveWhat do you want to be remembered for, @hollydolly?
From my experience, all of those qualities are true of you. I'd also add empathetic, intelligent, charming and quick-witted to your list. Not to mention extremely well-shod and possessing a great eye for home decor. Not really sure tbh Star... so what do you think people would say about you today if they were asked.. ?Don't much care, as @oldaunt said, once dead doesn't much matter.
I do however care what people (most of them anyway) think of me today.
