What exercise have you done today?

We have not been to the fitness center for the last week, but we are going to go today and work out and swim. I look forward to the swimming again, but it always chills my body for the rest of the day in this cold weather. Definitely going to soak in the hot tub before and after the swim and try to warm up afterward.

Since being prescribed clonazepam, I’ve gained weight. Then I got put on another narcotic that is known for weight gain, and gained even more. The pancakes don’t help either. Lol

I’ve weaned myself off the benzodiazepines which wasn’t easy, and halved the other medication I’m on. I’m not completely against conventional medicine . At times it’s needed. I’ll keep the benzos for emergencies. I think it’s causing early dementia which I’m not ready for. This was the main reason I used cannabis so when I think of the medical options, a bit cannabis now and again isn’t that bad.

I also gained weight because I dropped the plan I had. Discipline and consistence is needed to follow through on a plan and I baled in that department. Now I’m doing yoga and walking on my treadmill daily. I’ve even increased my walking to 3.2 mph. to challenge myself. Today I did the ‘crane’ which I could do stretch wise but I couldn’t hold my weight up ON my arms for as long as the yoga models. My bones just ached something awful so……now my daily motto is …….

EVERYDAY I’M GETTING SMALLER & STRONGER!!!

I’m going to stick to eating once a day for weight loss. I’ll eat a good balanced meal once a day and a protein soothie once a day.
I want to increase muscle tone so protein is needed.

The crane is one of the most challenging sequences to do and I was so proud that I can still do it. I haven’t done this dvd in a while. I’m going to do this.

Everyday I’m getting smaller & stronger.
Another thing I’ve changed is that I pick what I’m going to eat the night before so I know before my day starts what food I’m putting in my body.

I do a lot of stretching exercises. I like to keep agile. I was at the gentlemen’s club last Friday. We got to talking about exercises and one of our younger members wanted to bet me $50 that I couldn’t touch my toes without bending my knees. I hemmed and hawed at first watching him smile while the other few men standing around us knew this youngster was about to learn a lesson.

I finally said OK, put your money up. We handed our money to the secretary that was in the group and did it 5 times in a row and collected my $50.00. The youngster was flabbergasted. He said he thought I never could have done that.

Yesterday I spent 67 minutes in the surf just treading water and generally moving around while snorkeling at times. I was going to spend just an hour in the water, but an elderly Western woman left her dog on the beach and came out in the surf near me just as I was getting ready to call it a day. So, after a few minutes I finally told her I was getting out of the water and asked her if she would be alright by herself. She replied in fluent English that she would be fine. So I left. However, if I see her again I will warn her not to leave her dog unattended on the beach because there are packs of stray beach-dogs that have their own territorial boundaries marked out and they are unforgiving when it comes to other dogs entering their territory.

2 took 2 days off, one rest, and recovery, and the other a 250m round trip "to town" for necessities. The Christmas mall traffic was unreal.

Today took 2 laps on the WROD. It's warm, crowded, and limited skiing.

I started stretching in rehab for my back and shoulders that were injured while playing ice hockey. I felt really good about being so agile, I just kept doing them with and without the rubber bands.

I have a daily routine. 15 minutes I do stretching and yoga exercises lying down in bed. I have several tapes I like on YouTube and change the ones I use daily. Then I spend 15 minutes in chair u-tube exercises consisting of either stretching, yoga or tai-chi. I change which ones I do every day, thinking I will eventually involve most of my muscles. The reason I have no problem doing them is my back does feel a little stiff in the morning and after the workouts, I am much better. I used to go to the gym, but find it much easier to do them at home and the fact I get immediate benefit keeps me motivated...

Yesterday my smart phone health app warned me (again) that my "walking steadiness" is low, and that indicates I am at higher than average risk for a fall within the next 12 months. I know I'm kinda wobbly, and attribute that to my peripheral neuropathy. The app also tells me I only average about 2,000 steps per day.

I may have done a few bicep curls today - -uh - - that is if lifting my coffee cup and setting it back down, counts as a "bicep curl".
I’m actually enjoying pushing my arms some. They can sure use it. Yesterday I didn’t follow a routine; I just winged it and moved the weights to get the impact I wanted. I’ve got a weight lifting bench so can lie down with me knees up. I can do sit-ups in it too.
I got my coffee without this morning.
I need to work out. I’ve got too much pent up anger to unleash and working out seems to be the safest way I’ve found so far.

I rolled around on a giant ball while making Y’s T’s and M’s with my hands and body.
