What exercise have you done today?

WROD is the white ribbon of death. We have almost no natural snow so skiing is restricted to man made snow that forms narrow runs through the landscape. The small amount of area confines the many skiers in a small space leading to many accidents, hence the phrase WROD.

Using WROD is obviously a bit of an over dramatization of the situation but it's a worry as there are many that come to ski that are ill prepared, poor skiers, and the young and dumb, particularly 15yo boys.

I just did a very good workout. Did all the upper body machines, some leg and ab machines, and the treadmill at a pretty good incline. I did a little elliptical and have a natural tendency to walk backward on it for some reason. I have absolutely no idea why I am doing that. I'm going to have to break that habit. I almost forgot, I rowed. I enjoy that.

Yesterday went to the gym and did the weights for the upper body (which took forever) and threw in the ab machine and calf raise. I did the incline on the treadmill for a while since I wasn't doing legs. Walked 4 miles but not all of that was an incline.

At my gym the trainer told me about foam rollers people like. I never used them but they are popular for stretching.
Foam rollers are used for myofascial release which is self-therapy focused on fascia, the thin layers of fiber that surround muscle groups, and the muscles themselves. It's an alternative to therapeutic massage.

I don't think there are any definitive studies that show foam rolling has a positive effect but FRing has become ubiquitous in gyms. There are other tools that can be used like lacrosse or tennis balls to get into tiny spots like the hips and glutes.
