What exercise have you done today?

WROD incident involving my wife the other day. She is a very timid, terminal intermediate skier proceeding down a "cat track" essentially a snow covered road used to cross from 1 run to another. She came up behind a snowboarder and a skier that had a collision right in front of her.

As a result she was pushed off the cat track down on to the steep sagebrush and rocky slope below. She slightly sprained her ankle and bruised her hand, tore her pants, and all her clothing and gear was covered in mud. The ski patrol hauled the snowboarder off in a sled, and the skier disappeared. SP had to throw a line down to my wife so she could make her way back up to the cat track. SP offered her a "courtesy" sled ride, but she refused and skied down on her own. She recovered for a few days and is back at it again.

Thankfully it's snowing and we'll have more terrain to ski soon!

30 minutes of walking on Sunday evening, then I swam one kilometer last night. I seem to be walking less and swimming more.
I've got to start swimming again. It's just so cold to think about it. I prefer to get a quick shower and leave the pool with wet hair, etc. Temps are just too cold for me to do that now. Do you mind if I ask what your swim workout is like? Freestyle only?

I head over to our community pool around 5:30 P.M. in the afternoon when there are few, if any, people in the pool. The pool is 50 meters in length. I swim freestyle only and my rule is to do no less than half a kilometer and no more than one kilometer. One kilometer is 20 lengths of the pool. (If you have a problem with breathing while swimming freestyle, then use a swim mask and snorkel and you will get all the air you want and be able to swim much longer.)

Today was the crane episode only I couldn’t do it. My arms hurt too much to have all my weight on the top of my arms. My bones hurt when pressure is applied. The pressure of the machine that measures blood preasure really hurts my arms. I think I’ve got some form of arthritis.

I like 50 meters for freestyle. I think I prefer a 25 meter most of the time. Less flipping at the wall I suppose. I use bilateral breathing so I have no problem with that part of it.

I HAVE to start walking more in the house. My foot was broke about 6 weeks ago, so I stopped walking. I need to begin catching back up to about a mile a day. Thus, I WILL to walk more each day now. :) ( to cold to walk outside until it gets up to about 40 degrees. )

Which is something else that getting older has changed. I tend to get chilled easier and it is more profound when it happens. I had 3 layers on while it was 0 degrees.

Spent an hour and a half at the gym today. Stretching, weight machines for chest, shoulders and back. 20 minutes on the elliptical machine.

I still have a tremendous ache in my neck/shoulders that seems to travel down to my hips after I sit for a while, but I refuse to let the aches dominate my life. I can still walk and exercise fine. I just plow through the pain. I've started taking Ashwagandha as recommended by another member in hopes that my current issues are related to inflammation.

I play golf 2 to 3 times a week at a golf course which I have a yearly membership. I do not ride a golf cart. Strictly walking. This equates to walking approximately 6 miles per round. For me this gives me all the exercise I need.
