What exercise have you done today?

I'm going to the senior center and doing 1/2 an hour on the stationary bike, then 3 sets of 10 on my quads, hamstrings and calves.

I am getting knee replacement surgery in April, and did 12 physical therapy sessions for range of motion and strengthening in November.

It was really painful, but I did feel stronger, and I didn't want to lose what I had gained, so I decided to keep the training going on my own.

I'm so tired of walking with a limp.

Glad you liked it. Did you try doing it? It’s fun!

Yes I did!
But the TV is my DHs space so I had to think up a plan to rectify that situation for my space.

It is now actually my NEW YEAR resolution, MaidMarian!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

My plan (Christmas present for myself via DH):
-Buy a med size smart TV from Costco, for my space;
-Call a glass company come mirror one wall in my space. (I do better with my form when I can see me mimic the instructor).
-Begin with at least 1 of the 20-30 min sessions every other day for about a month, if I can manage that; adjust as needed.
-Goal is to do a the whole hour session by the time my older sister visits in late Feb/Mar!!

I sent HER the video link, too and she LOVES it too!! So she and I have made a goal that when we get together we will dance it together!!

Again: THANK YOU SO MUCH! Am so happy you found what I was searching for: a new routine.

As a person with Parkinson's Disease (PD) I have learned there is no cure, but exercise can slow its progression.

So I try to spend 2 hours every non-rainy day chopping down blackberry plants, pulling out their roots, and replanting the area in grass. Gets me outside and gives me a sense of accomplishment.

So far I have converted an acre over the last two years,

Nice work; berry bushes are so difficult to banish!

My usual morning routine. It's 60 squats now, 20 lunges, 50 pushups (the easier kind leaning against my kitchen island) and half an hour briskly walking. The temps didn't get above 20* F today so the walk was circling around inside my house.
Oh yeah, bicep curls......with 8lb weights.....I can manage 40 before I give in to the burn....once or twice a day.
OK, I only do the lunges and pushups 3 or 4 days every week, but squats and walking is every day.

My husband has transplanted many black berry plants. He cuts them down first then digs them up and on cloudy days transplants them.

Sorry about your Parkingsons Disease diagnosis.

Other than walking up and down my indoor stairs a few times to P...not much but did go outside twice. At noon walked 4 blocks and back to our nearby Home Depot looking for a short screwdriver tool but bought nothing. And at 5pm walked out to my mail box and found a real estate flier I tossed into the trash.

Got up at the crack of dawn this morning and decided to go for a walk on the nature trail. It was 34 degrees which is a bit chilly for here in L.A. (Lower Alabama). I decided to take my motorcycle to the nature trail. I put the liner into my leather motorcycle jacket and wore my winter gloves. But when I got up to 50 mph I thought I was going to freeze to death. It's 6.2 miles (that's 10 Kilometers to you non Americans) from my house to the nature trail and by the time I got there I was shivering like a leaf and my fingers were numb.

I did a two mile walk on the trail which wasn't bad at all without the 50 mph wind chill, but then came the ride home and by the time I got there I was chilled to the bone and my fingers were so numb I had a hard time opening the door with my house key. When I got inside I changed into a sweatsuit, cranked the heat up to 80 and fixed myself some sausage and eggs with a couple of cups of hot coffee. It's now about 2 hours later and I'm finally starting to feel thawed out.

Better would be to wear more serious skiing type gloves, and a hood plus an inner balaclava head gear and possibly goggles. Skiers of course move at speed causing wind chill and often do so at even colder temperatures so we learn to cover up any areas of unprotected skin except nose for breathing.

Did another two mile walk at the nature trail. The low temperature this morning was 32. I rode there on the motorcycle again but this time I waited till an hour later when the sun was up and the cold didn't feel as bad.

Monday 12/23/24 = 2 mile walk on the nature trail.

Then later in the day I did a few sets of deadlifts at 5 minute intervals.

60 KG X 4
70 KG X 3
80 KG X 2
90 KG X 1
95 KG X 1

Tuesday 12/24/24 = 2 mile walk on the nature trail.

Just because it's Christmas is no excuse for letting one's self go.

2 mile walk at the nature trail, followed by bench presses with mini-weights.

First 10 reps with just the 20KG Bar, then 10 sets of 8 reps at 4 minute intervals with 30KG.

I had quit bench pressing on Oct. 23rd because my shoulder was hurting. I rested it for about 4 weeks and it wasn't getting any better so I finally made an appointment with a shoulder specialist. That was on November 27. He examined me and said I probably had a small rotator cuff tear. He gave me a shot of cortisone in my shoulder and said it would be OK to keep exercising it but to cut way back. So I started back with sets of 10 with just the bar and have been slowly increasing the weight and dropping the reps since then. I'd say my shoulder is about 80% better now so I'm going to stick with this plan and hope to get back to where I was before I injured it in about 6 weeks.

Shook 1- 8lb full can of paint for: 5 minutes.
Used a paint brush and roller today for 4 hours today.
Up and down ladder at least 20 times.
Laid out on floor to do baseboards.
6 - 25' trips to kitchen for cookie breaks. The Great Christmas Day workout.
