What gives you a natural high?

For me it has changed from sailing to gardening to model railroading. Now it is fooling around on my iPad. And you?

Anytime that I have a chance to fly, I take it. When I begin to roll down the runway, i get those butterflies of excitement in my stomach.

I used to find flying really exciting, especially take off. But now we've done it so much it's become just a way to get where we are going.

The attention I get at Halloween being Darth Vader! Last year was my first year and seemed like everyone wanted their photo taken with me at the party we went to. Wife got some attention being Princess Leia, but not like the attention I got.

Now, this year she is a Female Stormtrooper and I've already warned her of the attention she will get. The camera's will be going off for both of us now.

Love it!!

I used to fly for United-Continental. So, every now and then I treat myself to an hour or so of renting a small corporate (jet) and taking it up. I was the Captain on the Boeing 757 and 767 for the last 12 years that I flew. One thing that I have found since my retirement and that I really never realized was that some pilots just did not want to fly for a living. To them, it was just a job. For most of us, however, it is a passion. When I received my 757-767 rating, I thought that I had hit the lottery.

As for you, QuickSilver, it never hurts to pray, but flying today is very safe. All U.S. and European airlines put safety first. Planes do not drop out of the sky. The big planes are able to lock onto many of the airports landing systems (ILS) making landings, especially in bad weather much less dangerous than years ago. And with the auto pilot systems on-board most jets today, TO's are very safe.

I want everyone here to know that the next time they fly they should sit back, relax and enjoy the view. Safety comes first at all U.S. and European airlines and the airlines want you to have an enjoyable experience. Repeat business is what keeps them flying. Hell, I wouldn't even takeoff if our coffee pot wasn't working. And, I never flew into a storm.

The only stress I have regarding flying is whether I forgot to pack something and getting all sorted for security - empty pockets, bag of liquids, making sure my feet don't stink if I have to remove shoes, and now, making sure all electronics are charged up and turned on.

There's a much bigger chance of winning the lottery or getting hit by lightning than being in airplane crash.

The idea is silly I do not do high anything and do not get it

Maybe it's the word 'high' that you don't like. What about feeling pure pleasure? Like listening to your favourite music, walking on a soft, sandy beach barefoot. Holding your beloved's hand.
