What has been your experience with intuition/premonition

Are you the sort that has heightened senses which act sometimes like a warning device or do things just creep up on you with little advance notice? And has it changed at all as you've gotten older?

On the Myers-Briggs test I am classed as intuitive but it has nothing to do with premonitions.
It means that I arrive at decisions quickly based on a limited number of inputs.
I don't need to have all of the information before making up my mind about someone or some course of action.
Gaps in the inputs are filled with a mixture of previous experiences and other signals like body language etc.
It is not mere guesswork and the result is often spot on but it is by no means infallible.

There's nothing mysterious about intuition defined in this way.
Premonition may be a form of intuition, but not as I know it.

During the menopause, which started when I was 40 and finished at 48, I experienced premonitions, which could be a bit unnerving. The most memorable one was three days before Diana died in the car crash in Paris. It flashed into my mind that she was about to die, I dismissed the idea as silly, but the rest is history as they say. Goodness knows why that woman should have come into my mind as I didn't like her. But her antics were making news at the time, and I suppose my subconscious mind must have latched onto the fact her silly behaviour was putting her in danger.

I was glad when the menopause was over and the premonitions left me.

Good distinction there, Warrigal. The premonition thing would involve a level of psychic ability I would say.

Myself, I am more subjective then you would be in terms of intuition. And as for premonition, that acts on me occasionally and more so in later years.

Body language I studied and that is extremely helpful in all aspects of life and fascinating as well. And for me most premontions don't occur until I let my conscisous state go so that dreams have been the place in which I would get the most information.

I have often fantasized about being able to hear peoples thoughts and came to the conclusion that it could be devastating!!:what1:

Sounds like a hormonal surge of some sort may have triggered it.

I have always been very intuitive but I did have what I guess could be called a premonition once. My firstborn had gone to the cabin with my parents for the weekend when she was about 18 months old. I was waiting up for them and they were later than expected. I dozed off on the couch and had a "dream" that my mom walked in holding my daughter and she had a large white bandage on her forehead (my daughter). She had 5 stitches under the bandage. My mom knocked on the door, waking me up. I let her in and she had her hand sort of covering my daughter`s face. She said "We had a little accident." Turns out my sister`s dog had bitten my daughter in the face and she had 5 stitches-3 in the corner of her mouth and two under her eye. Told everybody about it because of the dream I had had. Two weeks later, she was running through the living room, tripped and hit her forehead on the coffee table. 5 stitches require with a large white bandage, exactly as I had seen it in my dream. Was difficult for a while as every time I had a dream about something bad,I was certain that it was going to happen. That was the only experience though...

Interesting Mrs. Robinson. When I was a kid I had a dream three nights in a row. In the dream I was in bed being visited by friends and relatives with gifts for me. I even told my mother that I may be coming down with the flu or something, because I keep dreaming that I'm sick in bed. Well, a couple of days later, I was waiting on the curb at the corner of a 45 mph street. Some drunk guy nodded off at the wheel and drove up onto the sidewalk, clipping me with the corner or his front bumper. I had a couple of broken bones, stitches in various places, and spent time in the hospital and recovering at home in a wheelchair and on crutches. Had a dream last week that I was pulled over by a cop for a speeding ticket. In the dream I was only going around 5mph over the limit. Never had a speeding ticket yet, but have been watching my speedometer, lol. :p

That's a classic. And may I ask had your mother passed when that dream occured?
