What Have You Accomplished Today?

Well, I hit the ATM, the grocery store and the drug store, now I need to hit the ATM!!!

I know how that goes...need more $.

Took my husband to a doctor appointment, cleaned the bathrooms, steam mopped the floors, did three loads of laundry, picked up the dog's prescription at Costco, made a batch of hazelnut oatmeal bars, watched an episode of Preacher and one of Happy Valley.

That was a lot of cleaning to do...mmm..those hazelnut oatmeal bars sound so good!

Up early, couldn't sleep. Made banana bread, zucchini bread. Next will be apricot upside down cake. Applesauce cake later. No applesauce until the grocery store opens. Have swept terrace, picked Egyptian mint and tomatoes. Fertilised plants. I think I will make pancakes on the grill. Hungry!

All those breads sound wonderfully tasty~

Had breakfast, made bed, put load of wash in machine and will rest for a few now.

Rest is something I did all day..feels good doesn't it.

My wife is a huge Andy Griffith fan, so we had to swing by Mt. Airy on our way back from Maine a few years ago.

I went out to the garden and picked some cucumbers and tomatoes, weeded a bit. They came out easy because of all the rain we have been having. I came in to put a casserole in the oven and heard a loud bang. Like a shot. The oven door spring had broke. I had to take the drawer out to get to the spring. The next 3 hours was spent on the computer trying to find a replacement. Darn thing cost $9.00 plus shipping. Also cleaned the drawer out and floor under the stove. This definitely was not on my to do list. But it's done.

The mountains of N Carolina are beautiful, aren't they? It's only a 2 hour drive to Pilot Mountain from Charlotte, but I saw the Museum for the first time just a few years ago. LOL Andy Griffith's accent is MUCH more pronounced than mine.

I want to be where you are, Ruthanne, to let that wonderfully cool air in. That won't be in the Carolina's until almost Thanksgiving, sometimes not even then. Sounds great tho.

Luckily it gets cool up here in the Blue Ridge at night but the days are pretty warm. This is the hottest summer I've seen up here.

I fed my dog and birds, ate too many peaches (fresh and good!) and napped a lot.

Got up earlier than usual which is a plus. Took my dog out for a walk. Ate breakfast.

I got moved in the my new rental. It’s such a joy to have a screened-in back porch where I can sit as the sun lowers, feel the breeze and listen to the birds chirp

I had to drive clear across town to my workplace to take care of some things for retirement, and as I'm about 3 miles away, it dawned on me that I had forgotten my BADGE! Chit, so I had to turn around and save it for another day soon.

On to the eye doc, then Lowe's for some weed n feed. Oh, I also went to Costco to buy a new microwave. Mine finally died.
I'd bought a kit to make chinese chicken salad at costco , so I just had to throw that together for dinner. Whew.

My new office is ready....two new wing chairs arrived yesterday and completed the layout. Yes, I have accomplished a lot in a week!

Doggo and I accomplished a longer walk down the street and it was so nice with Spring on the way!

I got up about 2 am... and took a test for a class.... then back to bed for a couple hours before rising for the day and going to work. After work, i came home .... slipped a frozen cardboard pizza in the oven and turned on the computer to take two more tests before midnight. It was finals day for this intercession. I didn't accomplish a lot.... that will be tomorrow.... my first day off from work and classes in weeks... I hope to be a cleaning machine..... goodness knows, the house needs it.
