What have you bought recently?

I think you've hit the nail on the head... that's why GiGi..gets away with spending ..nothing !!:sneaky::LOL:
Nopity nope. We use one cart, but I scan my stuff first and pay. Then DD scans her stuff. Except groceries because I give her $$ every month for groceries, and I also get $150/quarter on a card from my insurance for healthy food, seeing as how I've been diagnosed with this, that and the other "conditions" and they want me to eat healthy. When we get groceries and it's time to pay, I run my food card through first, it tells us what the total is for the healthy stuff, DD uses her debit card for the balance.

See? I'm as pure as the driven sNOw;)

Just ordered a pair of Clarks (no apostrophe, spell check - thanks anyways) floral top flip-flops in taupe. On sale at Amazon for $30.

I love the Clarks Cloudstepper line. Let it go, spell check!) Squishy-comfortable and durable. My pair from last year still look and fit like new. They don't get loose over time because the strap is adjustable on those and the ones coming tomorrow). I've needed wanted a neutral shade sandal for a while now, and flip-flops are my go-to style.

So now I'll have 5 pairs of nice flip flops for my everyday warm weather wardrobe!
Bright pink/black Adidas with squishy yoga mat bottom (about 5 years old)
Aqua/black compressed foam Reefs (also about 5 years old)
Black/black compressed foam Sanuks (probably 3 years old)
Last year's red/navy/white Clarks
This year's taupe/white Clarks

Getting a mother/daughter pedicure today (first since pre-pandemic!), so my feet will be off to a great summer start!

believe it or not Star, I had the blue ones.. only they were Sketcher.....they were the most comfortable flip-flops ever.. and I had 2 pairs over several years.. but the year you know who left, I had backless shoes on ( not those ones ).. and I caught my heel on the doorstep , and fell and really injured myself.. I'd just got over it, and a few months later I did the self same thing while wearing different flip=flops.. so for me..any backless shoes are history...but I'm sure you will love those if they're anything like the sketchers ones..

I'm sorry that you can't wear them anymore. I do love them. They're by far the most comfortable FFs I've ever owned.

Bought a BD card for my grandson. Six Bucks. And......not sure, but I may have bought the same card last year!
$6 for a card? That's highway robbery! I buy cheap cards of whatever sort - doesn't matter what they say - then cross out and write stuff in. So if I want it to be a BDay card and it says, "Congratulations on your new job!" I turn it into, "Congratulations on your new+ly job turning 8!"

Sometimes they work out to be pretty hilarious by the time I finish with them.

I've also been known to repurpose cards I've received. So when it says, "Dear StarSong, it becomes "Dear StarSong Jeffrey," and "Love, Mary Sue" becomes, "Love Mary Sue Starsong."

Been doing this for decades.

I bought a pair of pruning sheers from the dollar store, Only $4 and I must say these are well made and quite a bargain.
isn't it crazy now that the dollar or Pound stores'' don't seem to exist.. in our Pound store they sell things for up to £10 or 12 pounds.. the fact they have some things on the shelves at a £1.. doesn't make them any different from any other discount store now

I bought three pairs of knee high socks today. I'd been looking for diabetic's knee highs on Amazon and Walmart. Both wanted $20 for three pair and Amazon $24 for 5 pair. I just couldn't see paying that price. I was going downtown anyway and decided to stop at one of the "dollar stores". I stopped at an old 5 and dime first. They only had ankle and crew socks. I wound up getting the three pairs for $5.98. Beats the hell out of $20 !. I also bought a small white and clear cosmetic case to use in my go-bag which will double as a weekender. I stopped at the supermarket and picked up a can of Shoprite whipped cream since Costco didn't have any last week.

Today I'm also going to order 7" stainless steel cat bowls for our fur baby and 1 container of Amazon's sugar free hazelnut powdered creamer..just to try it out. Coffee Mate's brand has gotten to be too expensive.

Have you done much shopping on Temu, HD? I'd never heard of them before their extensive ad campaign during the (American football) Super Bowl back in February. I checked out their site but didn't stop back after that first look-see.

I have done a fair bit of shopping on Temu ,Star..all in the name of research of course .. :sneaky::D...seriously yes I've done a a fair bit..about £100 worth over a few weeks..

I was incredulous when checking prices of some things against those same items in Amazon.. that temu is half if not even less the price.. and delivery is absolutely free.. ( no prime or equivalent to pay)... altho' at least here in the Uk to qualify you have to spend £20 or-more

All that said..it's difficult to gauge a proper review of the items sold on there.. very few buyers leave reviews..so again I had to resort to googling for reviews of the item from other sites..

Like Amazon, they have several sellers of the same item.. so you will find exactly or very simialr items being sold for a big difference in price, and also Temu reduces prices at will.. even after you've bought something at one price however, if it reduces again within 30 days after you've bought , temu will refund the difference.. apparently lots of people have had this paid to them so it's not a scam.... but all in all the prices are astonishingly low for almost all things..

I've watched Youtube Videos in the past of people who have bought huge amounts ... for me to see what the quality of the items are like when they review them or even just show off their haul

Again.. because of so little reviews you have to be particualrly careful that you buy what's for sale and not what you imagine it is.. lots of people for example got handbags the size for a child.. when they thought they were getting a full size bag.. ( the description and sizes are all there to view tho')....

Lots of it is junk.. cheap nonsense.. which makes me shake my head at what people are prepared to spend their money on... but much of it is very good value..

For me personally I couldn't buy make-up or jewellery...simply because who knows where that make-up comes from.. and secondly the jewellery bears no resemblance to what's displayed in most cases.. (lucky bag junk)....oh and I'd be very wary of buying anything electric.. a lot of people have but I wouldn't want to risk it..

The clothing pretty much all seems to be made of polyester from what I can gather from the reviews.... but I did buy a plain yellow T-shirt which is pure cotton.. and it cost about £3.... I also bought a an Iphone case which was going for £18 on Amazon.. for £1.49 on Temu... can't complain at that..it looks and feels exactly the same..I was delighted..

Items for the home seem to be their best sellers, and I've got quite a few items that cost a fraction of what they would on Amazon.. or that I've paid for in the past from Amazon.. so that's the great deal for me..

I have no idea what the game is with Temu.. whether it's a ploy to get as many sales as possible before increasing prices.. or what.. what I do know is that I pay with my CC every time rather than a Debit card.. and immediately after the sale I remove my CC card details from the site..

Up until now I've had no complaints whatsoever.. their deliveries are fast given that they have to come from overseas.. usually everything here within 4 days

I tell you one of the coolest things I saw on Temu..never seen one before, and watching the video of the woman who bought one, and her delight in it.. was an apron for people who own chickens ( as this woman did).. the apron had all indivdual pockets in it too hold single eggs after collecting...

Egg collecting apron

there's loads of different styles as well... More egg aprons
