What have you bought recently?

I spent money! Yup. Two half gallons of ice cream, a bottle of store brand spray-and-wash and four bags of Dove dark chocolate. Could have limped along without the spray-and-wash for another week but had to get the really important stuff: ice cream and chocolate. One does not live by bread🍞 alone; one requires ice cream🍨 and dark chocolate🍫.

Oh, and two bottles of tart cherry juice because quart bottles were still on sale for $4.99. Tart cherry juice has melatonin, which helps me sleep:sleep:. Tart cherry juice is usually $8.99/quart.

Bought Chinese take-away food...just had it..it was cold by the time I got it, because the landlord of the house next door, knocked just as I had dished it up...:( £12.00 of food stone cold...
I can relate, just had a similar incident.

Of course mine was a slice of toast with peanut butter on it.

Put in a Walmart pickup order. Noticed a $10 Amazon charge in the final summary. Seems that they didn’t have the product in the store so they were getting the $8 tissues through Amazon. It sure wasn’t clear anywhere. I selected another brand and they substituted 2 ply for the 3 ply. Declined those. Came home and ordered exactly what I want from Amazon. Doesn’t arrive until Wednesday. I think I have enough in stock to last until then.

Just Amazon ordered for just $72 (including tax/shipping), one of these light blue MIPS helmets. Most ski helmet prices now average at least twice this. US Ski Team sponsor by a newer brand so may be why price is low. Positive Amazon reviews. Will allow front edge or center top GoPro Hero 8 mounting, external speaker insertion flap at ears, and the light sky blue is a reasonable match for my teal ski parka.

Already have an old Smith white helmet that is still functional. As an advanced senior skier I rarely fall and have never banged my head in over 4+ decades though I do frequently ski fresh powder snow in dense trees. So don't want to do a Sonny Bono.

I bought a set of colored dry markers from Amazon. I'm finally getting to make good use of a wipe off board which sticks to the fridge that I got about 51 years ago from a bank. I'll be using it to list our daily chores. Yesterday I placed my auto shipment for Deja. Her cat food and litter. It is due to arrive tomorrow.

$47 worth of ‘eggs’. Seems other things got in my cart. Came home and realized a couple more items were needed so walked to the corner store. Those were only $3.

When I dropped off clothes at the charity shop, I felt it was my duty to have a Quick Look around. Spent $11 for two half price items. Seems like I’m going to meet my $25 monthly goal of fluff spending. Earlier I spend $6 at another store. I more than met the goal of at least two out if I buy anything new.

(qu-ick look was capitalized by Spell Check)

how much do prescriptions cost where you are ?
Depends on what it is, of course.

With my insurance coverage the cost I pay varies both by drug and by where I am in the year. Each January my copay total goes to $0 and then my copay per prescription goes up. I pay those higher copays and they tally until I pass a threshold, then my copay goes to $0 and I pay nothing.

Today I picked up one very common generic drug and paid a little over $8, last time I had the same medication refilled I paid $0 for it. 30 days worth (1 1/2 twice a day, 90 pills).

Another brand-name drug costs me $90 but then goes down to about $10 for it. 90 days worth (1 twice a day, 180 pills).

There is a small book issued each year listing drugs, their coverage categories, and amount they pay. Each month I get a statement summarizing the past month's spending showing what they paid and what I paid for each prescription - as well as the tallied copay balance.

The idea seems to be to turn each insurance customer into an accountant. :ROFLMAO:

I suspect most people opt for "paperless" and just delete those emails without reading them.

In England under 18's, over 60's... and those receiving unemployment benefits pay nothing.. at all.. Those who are required to pay £9.65 per prescription item.

However if we see a private doctor rather than one on the NHS prescriptions are £27 per item...

I just want to say ..without going into the politics..grrrr.... that we in England pay for our prescriptions as stated above.. but everyone in Wales Northern Ireland and Scotland get theirs free...

This is what I bought yesterday, miter saw on a nice stand and a table saw, $150 for all. Not pro grade stuff but I didn't buy it for me(already have all the tools I need) but for my daughter. She is in the aqusition stage of life and trying home renovation projects so she needs stuff.lol. Her next project is building bookshelves in her library room so the saws are just what she needs, and I won't have to drag my tools over there for her to borrow.20240129_154352.jpg
