What have you bought recently?

My most recent purchase was a shower filter .
It comes with 2 refills so will last a year, easy.
I had to put a small water head back on cause there’s no enough room for my extra large shower head but I bought an extension yesterday so it will fit. Using the filter makes my hair softer and soaps last longer since they lather.IMG_3873.jpeg

I ordered myself a new Rachel Ray skillet. It is 12.5 inch in a beautiful teal color. The one I had was one that was left when out best family friend passed. I have used it for 4 years now. I don't know how long he had it prior. It became the work force in my kitchen. It was starting to wear out so I ordered a new one. I will keep the old one as well.

I bought a little 13 inch TV for my kitchen table and connected a Roku to it. It seems small, but then I remember that the first TV my folks bought had a 10 inch screen and it was in a console in the living room.

Good lord, I thought my parents were rich when they gave me a little black and white TV for my room. I appreciated everything then and I still do today. Just that, the simple things, are what counts. I often carry the laptop into the kitchen so I can watch while cooking.

All I buy is food. It never seems to end.
Me too!! We are just hungry. That is the idea, I am frugal with other things but I like to able to afford good food. I am happy to cook it, don't pay restaurant prices for things you can make just as good at home for so much less. So I say to myself this is worth it. I can and do have steaks, seafood etc... for a third less than going out. Even a hamburger these days is ridculous in cost.

That's mostly what I buy, too. I have more stuff in my house than I'll ever use, despite decluttering and winnowing down on a regular basis. I look at things on line and ask myself if I'll really use it, and where am I going to keep it, then nearly always click off.
That said, I have magic erasers languishing in my Walmart shopping cart, because they're supposedly the best way to clean Roomba's contacts.

Two approved solar glasses for viewing the eclipse.

The Official Yellowstone Dutton Ranch Cookbook. On a joint call with my DD & SIL, I mentioned seeing it in a fancy kitchen store. He was enthused so I ordered it for them.

Both items through Amazon. It’s no surprise that Bezos is the richest man in the world today.

My last non-food purchase was pens from Walmart. Ballpoint pens, felt tip pens, dry erase markers, all in a wide variety of colors. All Walmart brand and half the price or less than the name brands. But they work great. It's my new thing, Walmart pens.

a whole chicken.going to cook it in my crockpot.cheaper than buying it by the piece.first time, I don't think I can mess it up !
I did mess it up! I cooked it on low for about 8 hrs .I looked on the internet and did what most of them said to do.some said you can leave it on low all night.but it just turned into mush bones and all.not what was intended.at least the carrots turned out good.i give up on cooking and just eat hamburgers and tv dinners.trying to emulate my late wife's cooking. FAIL !

No matter what pens I've used in this lifetime, including a set of gold cross pens that I was gifted back in the 70s, I always revert to the pens I used in high school: Bic Cristals, medium point, blue ink or black. I keep at least a dozen on hand - when one starts skipping I toss it and move to the next.
