What have you bought recently?

Took a huge bag of clothes, etc to the thrift store. Came home with 4 things. I don’t know why I keep buying pretty scarves, I never wear them.

Had the house, gutters and windows washed yesterday. That was a big bill. Last year we couldn’t find anyone to do this and had our choice of three people this year.

..so tomorrow or next time you go out, pick a nice scarf and wear it..even if you're not wearing a coat, drape a scarf around your neck. I have to do the same, because I have a lot of scarves as well..

I also have purchased a lot of scarves that I never wear .. I'm always too warm. Last week, I finally donated them to the thrift shop. I had the initial urge to keep them, as they were so nice .. also included gloves & mittens that were barely worn.

Oops! Must stick to the topic! I'm waiting for a pair of winter ankle boots to arrive. Yes, I know winter has
just ended. They're part of my daughter's Birthday present. They are the same as her old pair, that she loves,
and couldn't find anywhere. Also, was surprised to find a box of Hoops potato rings from England in the
post box, that I ordered over a month ago. There used to be a store that sold British foods, but it closed. I
love Hoops flavours 😋

The one I bought yesterday is more for a dressier coat. I’ll wear it in the fall. Some people don’t suit scarves and I know I’m one. I’m never comfortable when I do wear one.

Also, a small clothes storage container with 7 compartments. They’re designed so you put in your sweaters standing up. I’ve seen these online and wondered if they’ll be handy or a nuisance.
A waste of money. Good thing it wasn’t too much. It has slots but they don’t go to the bottom so things would be slipping through. Glad I only bought a test one.

regular shopping with inflation, for a long time we would go shopping at this time of the month. We pay our credit card off and than go shopping, for months and months I would joke we would have a 300 dollar day shopping. Most every month we buy the same things for the month not much change. only the past few months the 300 dollar day is tuning into a 450 dollar day.

Ran out to get the car under my carport just in time. Hail, wind and rain. This photo from our news channel.

That is not too bad. We have storms in Texas right now. One is reporting baseball size hail a few counties away. I put the car in last night, the storms started last night. I have one dog that falls into a shaking, panting lunatic. The big one just barks but this little one tries to crawl into my skin. He just started with this the last few months. I will have to call the vet and get some doggie downers.

My granddaughter is a big fan of Taylor Swift and she is going to see her perform soon. So I bought her many Taylor Swift things, like a makeup bag and an outfit to wear with Taylor's picture on it. And many other items related to Taylor.

The storm was real bad around us but we got hit fairly hard. All is good this morning. Our Shih Tzu Sassy use to be the same way too. Storms changed her into a furry mess. RIP.

Oh, I have been wanting one of those!
Would love to know how it works out for you.
I did alot of research, and learned alot along the way.
I'm just a casual bike rider so I was looking for something that was in the 'commuter' range. No fat tires for off road, no sleek design for racing, just a simple affordable commuter bike.
The costs vary greatly. The high end bikes start at around 2500 and up from there.
The Aventon I chose was their 'high end' at 1,799, plus I got a 5% military discount, and an extra battery for half the list price($299.99) Ya, ok, $300. I test drove one at a dealer and loved it. You can pedal when you want, or not. Its a throttle assist with a torque sensor. What that means if you don't want to pedel at all, just use the throttle lever, but if you want to pedel, the motor kicks in the more you pedel.
I ordered it from the website so I didn't have to pay extra to put it together. Its very easy and youtube videos are out there. You can also have the dealer put it together (basically the front wheel and fenders) for about $130.
Make sure you get a good bike lock. I got extra insurance (after all it is $1,800) for 10$ a month. Covers if the bike is stolen from your home or anywhere else you lock it up. The insurance also covers if you get in an accident for repairs, medical, alternate transportation, and some other features I didn't think I would use. But $10 a month was worth it to me for peace of mind.
So it has suspension, fenders (so water doesn't splash up, a back rack for carrying things, and blinkers and headlight.
All the things I need to get around my little seaside town!

Not too long ago I bought 4 goldfish, mainly to amuse Paxton and the twins. I found one fish dead on the floor a few days later. I suspect my cat, but it might have jumped out of the fishbowl.

Of the remaining 3, two of them got really big, like more than double in size, so I went and got a small aquarium and an airstone. Paxton named his fish Binx, Landon named his Rocky, and Zoey named hers Eva. Binx is the biggest, Rocky's isn't far behind, and Eva isn't much larger than the day I bought them.

Anyway, even though they were only around $0.75 each, I'm experiencing buyer's remorse because, after getting them a tank, I've got to get (or make) a decent water filter and maybe a water-exchange system. Also, I put in 3 different live plants and they're doing really well, so now I think I should change the substrate - maybe put down a layer of clean sand, which I'll have to buy, and then the gravel.

And if everything keeps growing at the current rate, I'm gonna need a bigger tank

Although, you know, accidents do happen. And fish don't live forever. :devilish:

Thank you so much for this. :)

Giant bag of frozen cherries and some shelled walnuts for my oatmeal.

I tried to buy a mascara from Amazon, but they are suddenly not carrying the exact brand, color, water-proofing I use, under Prime. I hate it when that happens; it seems so arbitrary.
