What have you bought recently?

I let my Costco membership go because I wasn't using it much at all.

I have heard good things about their eye glass department. My subscription is complex and so expensive at the eye doctor. I don't know if they could accommodate it there. I think you can take a prescription in from anyplace. Am I correct on that?

I could get a copy of my prescription, take it over and talk to them. If so, I'd be willing to get a membership again. I'd like a pair of readers. I have progressives but wouldn't mind some extra magnification. I didn't get a reader this time due to how much I paid for my progressives.

Who uses their eye class department?
yes you can take a prescription from anywhere.. at least you can here. My lenses are also complex so I shop around for the best prices I can get , but thus far I've not used Costco

DH & I do. Prices are excellent and they arrive much faster than from an optometrist.

@hollydolly and @StarSong Thank you for the information. If I don't have a copy of my prescription, I'll go out to the eye doctor and get it. Take it over to Costco and talk with them. I don't think I'm too far off guessing, they may all go to similar places for have the lenses made? Just get that nice extra cost that comes from the nice fancy Dr. office. And my eye doctor group recently relocated to a nice newly built building. My first thought on that is always "well someone's going to pay for this."

There are places on line that will send you a sample of I think 2 frames you have chosen for approval. Then, you tell them which frame you want and they'll fill your script cheaper than brick and mortar store.

I don't believe we have any places here online who will do that... but they do provide a camera service..in that you can virtually try the glasses on if you upload a photo

@Remy, if you haven’t had your eyes checked in a while, get it done at Costco too. Sometimes any place can do a bad fitting or the manufacturer gets it wrong. It’s not your fault but most optical places are much more receptive to changing things, even minor changes, if you had the tests done by them.

the ones I'm wearing now.. cost £400 and something 18 months ago... so I went online last month, and got some for £72 same prescription...
That's a price difference. And you are happy with the online ones?

I will always have to go to an MD for eye exams due to losing partial site in one eye. But I could ask about the cost of an exam at Costco. Just for those readers. I'm definitely going to go in and inquire.

yes I'm happy with these... it's not the first time I've bought online.. I bought 3 or 4 years ago online my distance specs... they're nicer frames than are available at the usual opticians... but last year because I hadn't had my eyes tested for a while, I thought I'll just go with the opticians again for my specs... but it took as long to get them as it does online.. it cost MUCH more.. and they're no better quality

Aldis coffees are not good, in my experience. I've heard others say the same thing but this is good.
The organic whole bean. I chose the Honduran and ground enough for a couple of days. It's smooth.

I finally broke down and bought a new mattress. We switched mattresses about 6 months ago, but this one had a weird lump right on my lower back. I started having problems with walking without weird pain there, so I typed in "new mattress ( my local )" I went to reputable place and surfed around. Then a little chat icon appeared so I decided to chat with a sales person. I told him the price range and twin size and he quickly gave me link to a limited time sale. I couldn't resist. Within 1/2 an hour I ordered it and it was delivered in 3 days. I have slept on it for 2 nights and already my back feels much better. :)

Doesn't my room look nice and clean? (misinformation) 😄

Hiya friends, daughter and I had long sleep last night, after opening window. Felt refreshed when we got up. Mozzied around and had lunch.

After completing emergency grocery list, we took off.

Got Aldi's own Pepsi, Cherry Cola, Cola and Tonic Water. Plus something called APERINI. Latter is supposed to be a copy-cat of Pimm's. This one is orange flavoured. Will see if as nice. Fingers-crossed!

Got an extra bag of grated cheese, 2 litres of orange juice. 5 boxes of VitaCat wet cat food for our wee CoffeeBean. Tomato juice for soups, cold cuts (beef, pastrami & chicken slices) and a roasted whole chicken for dinner tonight (just need to heat up the chips to go with it and gravy).

SMALL QUESTION DEAR FRIENDS, ABOUT FARMFOODS?

Any of you bought any frozen steaks out of Farmfoods store? Need to know, if it's good purchase or not? Quality, yes or no?

Cheers!
