What have you bought recently?

There’s a photographer in NYC that writes books/articles that specialize in well-dressed, classy seniors. You would meet his criteria. Right now I can’t think of his name. He’d absolutely love your new and old shoes.
What a lovely compliment Jules, thank you. Imagine me being the subject of haute couture. The term haute couture is French: "haute" meaning "high" or "elegant," and "couture" translating to "sewing" or "dressmaking." Perhaps it should be my talented wife who is the subject.
Is this that photographer?

It's galvanized steel with a tight-fitting lid!
I have a couple of those - they last forever. I keep dry dog food in one and bread flour in the other. Each easily contains 25 lbs.

There's never been a problem with critters or insects getting to them.

If these cans were available in square shape I'd have a bunch of them in different sizes, but alas they are not. Round footprints are terribly space inefficient.

Some time ago I switched to one single utility supplier as in, gas and electric. Since then I have had one monthly bill for both commodities. They get paid the old fashioned way, by cheque, in the mail. With every monthly bill has been an encouragement to sign up to direct debit payment, they offered me £57 to do so. Actually that's fifty seven pounds per year. That's a couple of pennies more than a pound a week.

For what it's worth I have never given anyone access to our bank account, and if my utility company thinks that I am going to wet my pants at the thought of saving a pound a week they are mistaken.

This month's bill had an accompanying letter that explained that they were obliged to let me know of the direct debit saving and then added that, the postroom staff were always delighted to see my payment come through. Apparently someone there was so taken by my handwriting that they photographed the incoming envelope. So if you use the social media sites like Facebook, you might just see my claim to fame.

LOL...we're with Octopus too.... I'm sure none of the staff would be older than 40 , probably much younger.. and rarely if ever saw a cheque , much less that handwriting..

It seems that my electric toothbrush has given up the ghost. I suppose after more than 20 years it has paid for itself. Time to browse, but I don't expect to find anything of comparable quality.

More fabric back there?
More shirts 001.JPG
More fabric, my trousers look like they are made from
the whole roll fabric and at £25 per metre, there wasn't
much change out of of a hundred quid. The lady might
have overspent but she did an amazing job of my vintage
style "baggies."One fellow, on seeing how baggy they
were, quipped: "Will you ever grow into those trousers?"
