What have you bought recently?

I bought a few groceries today and had them delivered. I prefer to do my own grocery shopping, even tho' I hate it, but today it was just a few basics needed and it was free shipping, which is not usual so I took the opportunity to get them delivered ...

I also bought some new ThermoPro digital thermometers. ... I like to see at a glance what the temperature is in the house at any one time.. ever since I've not been able to afford to put the heating on... and so if it gets too low then I bite the bullet and put it on for an hour ... and they also tell me the Humidity as well

..and a new Carbon Monoxide alarm because I noticed today that my standalone one in the kitchen was flashing to tell me it had come to the end of it's life.. ( I have one hard-wired in the hall as well )

Got a pair of Red Stretch 3/4 Capri pants...

It isn't plush or fancy but I find it very smooth to drive with lots of power when needed and much better gas milage than I'd expected. Using the little 'computer screen' known as an infotainment system is definitely stretching my tolerance for tech but I'll bet your dd is exactly the right generation for that.
I bought a used 2017 RAV 4 LE hybrid with 25K- ish miles on it in very early 2020 - just before the pandemic hit. It had come off lease from that same dealer and they provided me its full service history. I get an average of 37 MPG and haven't had a moment's trouble with it. It's at about 48K miles right now.

Roomy, comfortable and fun to drive. I kept Sirius (and negotiate with them every year when they try to raise the price) and quite like that, too.

My only quibble is the computer screen can be extremely distracting. It's great for GPS when I need that feature, but would prefer traditional buttons and dials for everything else, sound system included.

My days of buying brand new cars are in my rear view mirror, if you'll pardon the pun.

Wishing you the best with your new car!

I bought a book (I Declare is the title) by a retired Canadian customs inspector, serving for decades at an entry point along a highway crossing our border with the U.S. The author, Ron Walker, shares the inside story of the profession, and does a good job with his telling. It took only a short while to read a third of the book, since he relates countless fascinating incidents — one after the other. There's amusement in the details, and sometimes he's had me in stitches!

It helps that, while the author did take his occupation seriously, he comes across as a good-natured guy. I'll get back to the book sometime today.
Who's the author? I can't find that book on Amazon or elsewhere - it sounds very amusing.

DGD couldn't find anything she liked at Kohl's and her fibro was painful today so that's all she got. $34. The 30% off is good until next Saturday so I told her to look online and maybe there'd be something that would hit her where she lives...

@MarkD I didn't win MegaMillions so no whirled peas, but that would cost a whole lot more than the winnings anyway. Now it's up to more than a billion $. Maybe I should buy a ticket...although still not enough to pay for whirled peas;).

On my morning walk, I spotted folks selling Girl Guide cookies. I bought two boxes for DH. He used to really like them; hope he still does because I sure won’t be eating them. Yuck.
what are girl guide cookies made from. I saw an episode of Friends many years ago where they were buying them in the usual comical fashion... :D
