What have you bought recently?

It’s been 19 years since I put up the curtains in the bedroom. Ordered from BB&B. They were the only place I could find some wide enough, and even then it’s pushing it. They arrived today and I’m reconsidering the length I chose. They are more pricey when the prices for Can$ and shipping over the border are factored in.
Hope they work well for you, Jules. 🤞

All those plants and flowers that followed me home yesterday and decluttered my checking account? They're sitting out on the patio being watered by the rain. It isn't likely that they'll be planted today.

But y'all will be proud of me! I didn't go to either of the garden centers after work today. Instead I got my hair cut and only spent $20.

I bought something for myself today! That is so rare. Went to Macy's. Looking for lightweight summer pants. I only have one pair, the rest of my summer 'pants' are pedal pushers. Linen, in a brownish taupe, which once was my favorite color. Hard for me to buy pants since I became so short. Not all stores have petites or ample supplies. Tried on another pair, similar, in a cream, but too baggy in the legs. Taupe one fit perfectly. Paid only $17. for it. Marked down from some insane price.

This is the first time I bought myself something nice in over six years. Since my grandson came along, only have bought toys & t shirts!

I buy almost everything online. Reason is I pay yearly for free delivery from several places and have most of it delivered to my door which is on the 6th floor. I don't shop price usually, I shop convenience and seller return policy and reputation. Selection is so much more diversified online compared to a store. Not to mention no driving, no parking, no vehicle cost. I am too spoiled maybe?

This week I've bought almost a whole new wardrobe... several blouses/shirts and tops.. Suede High heeled sandals ( because you all KNOW how much I need them ) :p.. a new small vanity case in red & white.., earrings.. in red and silver, .. and some packing cases to use for travelling and for home storage of some bulky items.. some cuticle scissors... new yoga pants with pockets.. and a new dress watch

Welp. "They" see me coming at the garden center(s). The plants and flowers leap into my basket and cry if I try to take them out. We only went to buy mulch on sale at $2 per sack. Now I'm $130 poorer after only buying five sacks of mulch, and to top it off, I offered to pay for breakfast at the drive thru. It was cheap at $19 for three breakfast sandwiches and four drinks. I got a drink. DD, DSL and DGD got sandwiches and drinks. 💸💸💸 This has to stop! I'll get a paycheck this week but not next since I'm off this week. Oy!

why won't you get a paycheck this week ?... doesn't it go into your bank account ?

I'll get a direct deposit on Thursday for last week but not next Thursday for this week because I'm off without pay. I can afford it, but it's still a week without 💲to deposit in savings:(.

@hollydolly Since I'm only a part-timer, I don't accrue as much vacation/PTO as full-time employees. I used up my time when I was out with Covid last fall. There are still 10.8 hours left, but I need to save them in case I get sick.

In the Uk part-timers must be allowed at least 16 paid holiday days a year... if for example you work just 3 days a week...you will get a minimum of 16 days.. per year , more if you work more hours..

Holiday entitlement

In my dreams!

When I have the cataract surgery, that'll be three weeks without pay :(, which is why I need to quit spending now so that I can put back enough to cover continued deposits to the EF! On the bright side, though, is that it will be three weeks of no corporate BS, no inept or no show co-workers, no 2:30am wake-ups!

that would be against the law here

My yoga pants have just been delivered and they are the right size if I was 10 years old.... 😖 supposed to be an L.. I think they mean a L..for ''little ''
Did they come from Temu? I had read that their clothing all comes in a much smaller size range. What you got might be made for a smaller population there.

A bottle of Jim Beam. A BBQ sauce recipe says to definitely use this brand, so I got some. I have a bread pudding recipe that calls for it too. In a few years, I may have to buy another bottle. At least it doesn’t go bad.

temu ?...please credit me with some clothing taste ?
You know I do!! Nothing is wrong with Temu, I just think all their clothing is made to fit the small stature of the Asian people. Lord, I could hire you as a stylist, you pick so many stylish things and in the same colors I would be drawn to.

You heard it here first: I am not spending any more money this week. Nope.

That's what I say every time I withdraw yet more money from the cash machine. Today I have bought tickets to a vintage festival next weekend. The showground is only just over thirty miles away, about a forty-five minute drive. Classic cars are encouraged but before we take the MG, having good weather is a must. The flimsy windscreen wipers create an almost visibility wipe out. The event itself is more or less rainproof in that it's held in a number of aircraft hanger size marquees. Looking forward to it.
