What have you bought recently?

I got in yesterday the 2nd frypan 8 inches that does not
set level on the stove, or anywhere, I'm so sick of these
products that a such a joke....I threw the first in the trash
and guess I'll do the same with this...it is too crooked
to cook in, dangit.....

Can I ask what brand. Not sure why I’m asking as we probably don’t have it here.
Sally Hansen. I had to hunt it because apparently Target thinks it's too upscale to carry Sally Hansen brand. I also use Sally Hansen cuticle conditioner. Walmart carries Sally Hansen.

Dear me. You've heard of no-spend weeks, no-spend months? I just read an article about a woman who tried a no-spend year. Obviously, she "spent" on stuff like groceries, utilities, gas, maintenance/repair of whatever, but no meals out, no Starbucks, no clothes or shoes, no haircuts.

Okay. I don't need clothes or shoes for sure and don't care about eating out. But there ain't no way on god's green earth that I'm gonna give up getting my hair cut every 6-8 weeks or an occasional Starbucks (very occasional).

What about my seeds, bedding plants and mulch and other stuff needed for my garden?

And what about, for instance, the cuticle remover like I bought this morning?

Never mind. This old lady isn't gonna participate in no-spend day/week/month and especially not year! I'm all for frivolous spending.

Bought a tiny little glass basket with a lid to store a new eye drop that can only be kept for one day. I looked all over the regular stores for something and found this for $1.50 at a charity store.

Solar flower garden lights ..

Waterproof swimming bag...

Some wheel covers for my suitcases..

I still have an NHS dentist..thank God.... because they're like gold dust now..

I have a dental appointment next week... and I don't pay a thing because I'm on Guaranteed pension credit...
Lucky you, mind you our dentist is a Polish lady, she is very good and honest, meaning she won't run up a bill. Today she explained all that could be done including root canal and crown, but then added that there was no guarantee of the lasting longevity of such work. An extraction would be just the third tooth that I have lost in my lifetime. She praised me for not having sugar in hot drinks, but her most complimentary remark was to say that quitting tobacco in my early twenties had saved me from much dental work. It probably saved me from much more too.

Fine. So shoot me. DD/DS's inheritance is dwindling. The garden center relieved me of $75.73 this morning, but it was all for important stuff and all marked down.

Angelonia x 2
Guara x 3
Sunpatiens x 4
Coneflowers x 2
New Guinea impatiens x 2
Allium (just one)
Purslane (in a hanging basket but going to plant it in the ground)

See? Told you it was important stuff. And marked down. That's an average of $5 each. They were all originally priced a whole lot more than that.

Some of the sunpatiens have already been planted. It got too hot to do more, but everything got well watered and placed in the spots where they'll go tomorrow.

Some plastic picnic forks, some whole raw almonds, a new rechargeable battery for lawn care tools.

Yeah, I'm living large. Hold me back!
you could have given us a shout ..my daughter has 5 acres of Almond trees , Olive and cherry trees... you coulda filled your boots and your truck and had a holiday at the same time :D

Today I got beautified at the salon... usual ladies stuff.. eyebrows etc...

Then to TKmaxx and bought a new dish drainer.. how chic..lol....

I was in Florida for 8 weeks, so I drove down. My amplifier went out and I was going to replace it myself because I thought that since it sits behind the radio, (or as Buick calls it the “Infotainment” system), I could do it, but it has to be removed from under the dash and with my back being messed up it wasn’t going to be possible.

I had a Buick dealership in Florida replace the amplifier at a cost of $1200.

Amazing!

I’m still lost in the 70s and always will be.
