I bought the services of a plumber for $426 to change two cartridges in the bathroom cold and hot water sink knobs. OUCH.
No HC..lol.. he wasn't dressed that old fashioned.. in 40's style.. ... but he was not fashinable.. he wore just flannels and polo short or shirt and tie... when we in the late 60's and 70's wanted him to wear bell bottoms, and matching floral shirt & tie ...or ben sherman shirt... and Jeans...lol...It's just the right coat with a wide lapel suit, pin striped and with the wide trouser hems turned up. The hat and shoes complete that old fashioned look that Holly said, of her father.

Flannels are great although I don't have any. There's a talented seamstress who can make impeccable trousers, in a timeless style, that I know, she is truly a gifted artisan, my bulging wardrobe is testimony to that.No HC..lol.. he wasn't dressed that old fashioned.. in 40's style.. ... but he was not fashinable.. he wore just flannels and polo short or shirt and tie... when we in the late 60's and 70's wanted him to wear bell bottoms, and matching floral shirt & tie ...or ben sherman shirt... and Jeans...lol...
I don't think he ever owned a pair of jeans right to his dying day... ..lol..I'm laughng already because I know your opinion on jeans...![]()
Update: Some have arrived and I'm here to tell you, the penguins we ordered are adorable!!! More coming in a couple of days. I'm beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!Bought some Christmas decorations from Amazon to replace those that have seen better days.
ok you keep the saw.. and send me the ''one of these''....
They often have an emergency fund... and/or money set aside for things like that, along with house maintenance, property taxes, etc.I don't know how people manage these big surprise bills if they're living on Social Security alone and have meager retirement savings.
I presume she's spening her own money...so that's ok then...They say money talks, but in my house, mine just waves goodbye as she goes out the door with the shopping bags.
First up, her nails, that means a finger nail manicure, then it's off to the supermarket, even though we did the provision shop a few days ago. After that it's a birthday card and chocolates for a dear friend, then, hopefully, a return home.
I'm clomping around in a pair of Merrill slip-ons. They are warm, comfortable, water resistant, and have thick soles that keep you out of the slush. Plus they last forever. The fact that they are ugly is a bonus as no one would ever want to steal them.A new pair of Merrell winter walking shoes.
The shoes themselves are not noteworthy but the price startled me when I realized that they cost more than the monthly mortgage payment on my first little house back in the early 80s.
and the beat goes on…![]()
I agree, they're probably ugliest shoes in the world followed only by Crocs... neither of which i'd be seen in my coffin wearing.... but each to their own...I'm clomping around in a pair of Merrill slip-ons. I have two pairs of Merrill slip-ons, one is at least 15 years old the other about 10 years old. Very comfy still. I generally wear them with long pants over winter because, as you said, they're not the most attractive shoes when worn with shorts or a skirt.I'm clomping around in a pair of Merrill slip-ons. I like the look of those! You really wouldn’t like my Muck brand shoes either lol lol. I wear them outside for everything I do. They’re not cheap, but they are a little cheaper than the Merrill brand shoes.
I do have enough decency to not wear them to town
