What have you bought recently?

That was so kind of you, @Georgiagranny, and such a great idea. 🥰

I'm getting ready to buy a few items for the Marquette (MI) Mining Journal's annual Cheer Club. In a different thread I reported how, back when we lived up there, the Angel Tree gift requests were heartbreaking, including basic items like socks and underwear. Ever since, when I've been able to, I've shipped my donations up there.
Small world. Before moving back to GA, we lived in the UP's westernmost town...Ironwood (aka Sh!tburg...LOL). DS lived in Marquette for a few years before moving back to GA, too.

I bought a thick oversized chocolate brown Polo ( roll) neck jumper today...

I bought my grandchildren a Titanic book I spotted at the store earlier.

I told my older daughter about it, and she texted back "I didn't know there were any children's Titanic books!" So I had to share what I have in store for them. 😂

This isn't even all of them. I think I have about 17 or 18. Sorry for the overlap in the photos!

I bought angerines from Hales Grove. I usually don't buy from there because they are so expensive, but they had a sale to buy one crate, get one free so I caved in. I'm hoping they are fresher than some at the store that don't look that good.
Angerines...? or Tangerines.
I looked up angerines to find out what they were, but only found tangerines. Great deal though!

5 glass containers with plastic lids. They’re good for freezer or oven. I misjudged the size. Wish they were a bit bigger. They will fit in my freezer. In the winter I make so much soup and have wanted glass containers for it. Now I have to find a cupboard to store them in.
Glass storage containers often don't nest well so require a lot of storage space. Do these nest?

I bought some chia seeds. The smallest size I could find was a 2-lb (0.9-kg) bag! (Maybe I should have looked online.)

For comparison, the recommended daily serving size is about 2 tablespoons (~28 g). My freezer is now full of containers of chia seeds. I may check with my daughters and my friends to see if they want any because even using them on a daily basis I'm not going through that much.

I didn't actually buy this item—cozy, socks on Amazon, because my feet get cold at night—but the listing made me laugh, and I thought other people here would get a kick out of it. "Fur Origin: Not Obtainable"? Are they made of cryptid fur? 😄

The thing is, these appeared to be made of acrylic, not fur. Unfortunately, I navigated away from the listing and haven't been able to find it again. But it was simply a set of run-of-the-mill pastel fuzzy socks, the kind you see in stores all the time.

Lots of things!

2 new hats (I love hats!), a scarf and a pair of gloves.

Next month, we have quite a few party invitations so, I have been tempted to buy a lace blouse to go with an evening outfit, a short knitted jacket for a daytime get-together and a long sleeved denim dress for a friend's birthday party. I know I have things in my wardrobe I could have worn but, it's always nice to have something new and besides, most of the items were reduced so, just think of all the money I have saved ;):)💰

Three pairs of cotton gloves in a thrift store. Absolutely not meant for this winter season. They’re tiny. My hands are tiny too and rarely does anything fit me properly. No, I don’t need 3 pairs. Why not? I spent $16. There was also a pair of velvety opera gloves. I didn’t try them on, because I know I’ll never even have a remote chance to pretend to wear them.

For some unknown reason, these tiny gloves that were probably meant for Sunday are considered unique and the prices are higher.

What will you use them for?

@Jules Glove season is that long for me, too. I have to buy some more for the winter, otherwise I will freeze to death.

I did buy a packet of thin cotton gloves for next to nothing -- about 50 pairs, for like $10. They are for -- when I remember to do it -- putting Gold Bond lotion on my hands, topped by the gloves, for when I am sleeping at night. I also have to find the gloves.

I am hoping my hands won't look quite as over-used. People who are waited on hand and foot don't have these problems. I never could find that silver spoon that I was supposed to be born with. And I never could find the Queen from whom, as an alternative, my mother was supposed to have kidnapped me. And the lottery! It's a sunk cost for the $20 I spent on that over the years.

So Gold Bond is gonna make me look the part! Just wait and see! It's cheaper than a face lift or Botox.
