The assumption that someone posts possibly controversial statements in order to "...no one’s mind is going to be changed", change other members minds, is something for a new member to reasonably add but is in fact usually incorrect. Yes, there have been some members herein in the past, especially those in political discussions during election periods that argue like they are trying to change other member names, that is very common on large social media sites where the audience is vast. That is why I make that issue absolutely clear that I've done a few times in this thread that my inputs are speculative ideas merely to consider.
On this quite small web board, we post ideas for the sake of providing personal ideas and perspectives, reflecting examples of the range of ideas different people in our diverse membership have. And then what most of us don't do as is common in other boards, is argue whatever beyond a statement or three. Yes there are a few in the past that didn't get that, so would argue with others like them for pages. And what happened to them? They became bored only after getting receiving response from the same few regardless of how much they baited others that were ignoring them. And after a month or three are gone from the board, not to return.
