What is something that frustrates you almost every day?

Hello all!

I am new here but I am happy that I found this community.

I wanted to ask, what is something that frustrates you almost every day?

For me its all those telemarketing and scam phone calls I get all the time.

Does anyone even know how to stop those?

Answer: how to deal with phone scams.
Don’t answer the phone unless you know who it is. Dont give your number out to anyone you don’t trust.

When I get a call from a number I don't recognize, I answer in a low, robot-voice, "Hel-lo."

If it IS a scam call, there's usually a delayed response and I repeat my robotic Hel-lo as soon as they start talking. They always hang up and then I can block the number. It's kind of fun, and I never hear from that one again.

If the caller says "Umm....am I speaking to Mr Murr?" I turn back into a human and we're good.

I have a call blocking system on my phones, so all incoming calls goes through a screening system, and if I don't know who the caller is I don't answer and the caller has no idea that I heard the call...

I haven't had a cold caller in years..

What frustrates me on a Daily basis is also the limitations caused by Pain..in my fingers mainly due to recent onset of OA ( and in other places in my body).. which makes it all much more difficult to carry out normal day to day tasks without experiencing pain..

Welcome, James!

I have a couple of rules regarding this thing called a "phone".

First off, I never give out my phone number to a business and I DEFINITELY never give out my number when donating to a political campaign. That information is sold to others and that's why all those calls come in.

Secondly, if a business or entity of some sort absolutely must have my phone number (without which, apparently the world will cease to exist), I evaluate whether or not I need to interact with that entity. If they're that stubborn about it, I walk away. I don't need them that badly.

Third, have I said today that I hate cell phones? If not, please let it be said. They're a necessary evil, but not to the point where they become an appendage to my body. I will go DAYS without even looking at the bloody thing.

Welcome to the forum, @JamesGrant4!

I hope I don't jinx myself by saying this, but I rarely get spam or bot calls. When I do, Verizon flags the number as spam, and I block it.

Something that frustrates me on a daily basis is my work. I'm an editor. I'm so burned out. I badly need a break, but I can't afford one right now. I'm grateful to have work, but I need to figure something out (i.e., how to get un-burned out) soon.

Hi JamesGrant4: Welcome to the forum. I know what you mean by nuisance telemarketing phone calls. I keep a whistle next to the phone and as soon as they ring, I give it a good blow. Hardly seem to get any more. For a while I keep getting those annoying letters in the post to donate to various causes. Childhood Cancers, Breast Cancer, Bowel Cancer and the rest. I used to return them but now tear them up and put them in the trash can. I don't mind donating maybe once a year but not every month.

Hard to believe, but most days I get ~6 or more solicitations in the mail from charitable organizations. Many are national charities that are well known. Quite a few, however, are from organizations that I have not heard of, in locations all over the U.S. I assume that the vast majority are legit, worthwhile charities. Up to when I was working 4 years ago, I gave a fairly significant amount of money to charity. But now retired on a fixed income, I only donate less often to a few charities that I have been giving to for many years. The situation is this--I get far more solicitations in the mail now than I did 4 years ago when I made larger donations to more charitable organizations. I don't get it?
