Not one hundred accurate conversion but close enough.

When it comes to temperature can anyone feel one or two degrees different than actual?

I like warm temperatures so I'm still comfortable at 85 or so. I don't have air conditioning. Just a ceiling and window fan.
Winter for me is an exercise in survival tactics. Low humidity. Always cold unless I get the humidity up.

Yes we totally get it Pecos. I hate hot flashes unless I'm cold. Then it's "Come on hotflashes!"
 
Can't stand the heat and humidity in the summer and being cold in the winter...indoors.
I have friends that walk around with jackets on.
Needless to say,the electric company loves me,lol
 
We've got an old Victorian with thin walls and little or no insulation depending on the walls. Also we have a fair number of single pane windows that would be difficult to replace while keeping the looking older or extremely expensive to do that and get a good look. As a result our house heats up quite a bit most days. We keep it open as long as we can in the mornings until the temp starts going up outside. It gets up to the low 80's inside most days when it hits mid to high 80's outside. It's occasionally gotten up to the low 90's in here on days when it's high 90's or low 100's outside.

My wife can't sleep with any windows open, so we have to do all of our cooling in the evening before going to bed and then again in the morning. When the morning temps are in the mid to high 50's to low 60's that works well, but any higher than that we don't get quite enough cooling.

We now have a shade structure in our back yard that's screened so that's where we spend warm evenings when it's cooler out than in. We run the fans in the house to cool it down before coming in for the evening.
 
My AC is set around 77 but I can stand it up until around 90 indoors. Often can get warm here in the fall but I will resist turning on AC that time of year until it gets around 90 or so inside.

"Electric Company" LOL. They don't love me at all. In fact, they don't even like me. Check this out:

Here, we have DWP (Dept. of Water & Power). It should be called "DWF" - Dept. Of Fraud.
I got them in BIG trouble last year when they tried to rip me off on electric.
I started getting outrageous bills - the electric section of the bill which is usually around $110.00 was $650, then $850 & it kept going up. The news reported other people complaining about crazy-high bills.

I called them & asked when they read my meter. The Representative said "The date your meter was read is on your bill."

I knew she was lying because my electric meter is behind a locked gate & is not pointed at the driveway. She didn't know that......teehee.

Then, she told me to look at the Graph on my bill. I said, "YOU generate that graph; it means nothing. Let me speak to a Supervisor."

The Supervisor had me read my meter numbers to her. She said, "Those numbers are very different than the numbers our Meter Reader turned in & that would make a huge difference in your bill."

I said, "Of course they are." Then, I told her my meter was not readable due to its location & said, "Your meter reader is a liar....with or without your blessing."
She said, "Well, we'll send you an adjusted bill based on your true meter numbers." I said "Fine, but I want a digital meter installed that sends a signal to your office like our gas meter, so NO ONE can fabricate numbers."
At first, she tried to discourage me from doing that, then she gave me a number to call for the digital meter guy. At that number, I got nothing but recordings & instructions to leave my name & address. No one ever called me back. HAHA - more B.S.

Then I wrote to the Mayor & gave their office ALL the details, including their fraud.

TWO DAYS LATER, I got a call from the Mayor's office. They said the city employee would be at my house tomorrow morning to install the digital meter. It took 3 minutes. And no electric bill is ever over $120.00
The Mayor must have really chewed on DWP employees. EVERY BILL I got from DWP for the next 12 MONTHS said, "No payment necessary."

Yeah.......NEVER mess with the best!! :)

We keep our AC set on 74. Our electricity is supplied by a rural co-op, which buys excess energy from area power companies, and, as a result, our rates per KW/hr. are quite low. Our house is total electric, and the electric furnace can drive the bill rather high in the Winter, but I installed an outdoor wood furnace not long after we moved here, and with unlimited wood supply in our forest, I can keep the monthly bills reasonable. Plus, the labor in cutting/splitting a bunch of wood every year helps me keep fairly fit.

That's great you have low energy bills. I can't say the same. I'm in an apt. and my cooling bill last mo. was 72.00 I realize others must have even higher bills than that, though.

It only occasionally gets hot enough and stays hot enough for the house to be uncomfortable. Most evenings it starts getting down into the 70's by about 6 or 7 so we can open up the house and cool it down before going to bed.

However there are nights like last night were hit was still in the 80's outside at 9 PM so the house was probably 85-90 by the time we went to bed. We definitely used the bedroom AC last night.

Also most mornings it's in the 60's but this morning it only got down to 72 so the house is still rather warm. It's supposed to hit somewhere around 101 today. I'm not looking forward to it.
 
I turn my AC on in early May, and shut it off in mid October. It has a temperature/humidity control. I don't like warm weather. To me anything over 72 F is a waste. As I said, I don't like warm temps, I know there are some, who love to bask in the heat of summer; but I figure they'll come up with a pill to cure that.
