What is the oldest thing you ever bought and still have?

We have a Montgomery Wards chest freezer in the basement....we bought it in the early 1970's, and it still works good. I doubt that any appliances made today will last that long.

I gifted to another family member, a thatch rake, that my grandfather owned ... built to last for hundreds of years.

Our house thevoldest thing we have, built in 1860s, but we only bought it 9 yrs ago. Next oldest thing is a Hamilton Beech 'Drinkmaster' that was my Dad's, probably from the 1950s, looks like the ones soda fountainsused to make milkshakes.

I have books printed in the 1800s, but the oldest things i own that i personally bought new are poetry and religious texts i bought with saved up babysitting money some 60 years ago.

I still have the ol' Homelite super XL I bought back in '76

Geologists tell us that the land comprising SW Washington State is several million years old. So I guess the property on which my house stands is by far the oldest thing I have ever bought and, for the moment at least, I still have it.

The pots and pans I bought about 1978...Revere ware. I remember going to a Post Exchange to get them.
They're great pots. I bought two in the mid 90's at K mart. Copper bottom, still made in the USA. Can't get them now. When I wanted another 1 quart because I use it so much, I found one on Etsy. I was lucky and it was just as described with the lid. It's exactly as my purchased new one and now I can't tell which is which.

I bought a .22 revolver in 1958. Last year I sold it to a local gun shop for 3 times what I originally paid for it.

I have a lot of books like my mothers high school science book that is 100 years old. I have one that I have had for 70 years about aviation.

My wife and I have had each other for 62 years.

Cosmic Consciousness: A Study in the Evolution of the Human Mind is a 1901 book by the psychiatrist Richard Maurice Bucke, in which the author explores the concept of cosmic consciousness, which he defines as "a higher form of consciousness than that possessed by the ordinary man".

bought it in 1970...still in our library.

I don't know if it's the oldest thing I have, but there's a thesaurus I keep handy and still use. The binding is taped up. It has a copyright date of 1962. Call me old school, but it's hard to part with.

I had one exactly like it! Probably bought in about 74. No idea where it is today.

Before that I had Homelite 1040 (I think), twice the weight, half the power. I really thought the super XL was great! Wish I still had it.
It's just the right size

I fired it up a few months ago
Purrs like a kitten...with rabies

I cut my teeth on an ol' McCulloch back in the '60s
What....a.....beast

I have two old railroad wrenches that I bought from 20 to 40 years ago. They are from the early 1900’s they have the names of the railroad lines on them. They are with my tool box and sometimes I use them. There are times when they come in handy. They are adjustable wrenches and have various functions that they can be used for. They come in handy for bolts and nuts and rods over one inch in size.
