What is your favorite thing to do for fun?

My favorite thing to do is is going to zoos or ranches ... especially the ones you can interact with the animals. Going to the Clydesdale Ranch was one of the many highlights of my life . Getting a full face nuzzle from one of those big girls was a dream come true !

Like Toomuchstuff I also enjoy interacting with animals and especially enjoy seeing wildlife in our National Parks. We crossed the country twice and visited many parks and I would do it again in a heartbeat. All of nature thrills me. The redwoods were magnificent. Even the birds and deer in my own backyard are enjoyable to watch. I keep binoculars handy at all times.

I like to do all sorts of outdoor yard work...everything from gardening and lawn mowing to chainsawing dead/damaged trees for Winter firewood. That kind of activity is both productive, and a great way to stay fit and healthy. For sheer entertainment, we like going to a casino...and once in awhile we even win.

Traveling the country, seeing America by motorcycle.

Arthritis has curtailed that for the the last two or so years but !....I just had a stem-cell treatment that I hope will get me back on the road.

Doing what ever my new lady friend wants to do - yesterday it was a visit to an local art & wine tasting festival.

I like to paint, write poetry and create something out of nothing, like these shells I painted and decorated in the week

Wren, they are very pretty. I think they would look nice displayed in a small basket or in a tall clear glass, the type they use for candles or made into a necklace. Even glued around a picture frame.

Browsing in a bookstore and then meeting a friend for lunch for a good conversation.

That's up there for me too but golf would be my first pick. I'm not as good as I use to be but I don't care. When the weather is nice I like to go to the local municipal course, walk it while hacking away at the little white ball. I usually go alone and get paired up with interesting people.

Singing or playing music with friends. I am a pretty good musician. After playing classical piano all my life, I've recently discovered the fun of playing jazz.

Also, conversation with good friends, and playing bridge.

Prowling around the thrift shops, flea markets, etc... looking for books, antiques and collectibles that have a connection to my corner of the world.

I like to read and prowl the internet looking for information on how people have handled the tough times raising and feeding a family, during the settling of our country, Great Depression, War Rationing, etc...

Taking afternoon naps is another thing that is high on my list of favorites.

Well, I'm full of "used to's", like dancing and music, drawing, cooking, gardening, reading, playing cards and other games; animals, collecting old magazines, camping......

Now I still like to cook, but no where near as much. I'm still interested in the subjects, just don't do them anymore. Still have my little doggie though, TV and the Internet where I can learn all the things I didn't get to in school like archeology, history and studying other cultures.

edit to add, going out to lunch with the girls.

Bea, if you haven't seen these yet try picking some videos from here. I've seen a few, too. Interesting, but the ones from Britain were great. I'll try to find them again.

Around the house, I love reading and usually have my nose in a book. I also love to cook and try out new recipes. My hubby and I are RVers so we enjoy traveling. It doesn't take much to entertain me anymore; all the wild partying days don't hold the same appeal they used to.

Hiking in the mountains............On a more day-to-day basis, getting together with siblings and playing board games. A lot of laughing goes on with no need for adult beverages.......
