I remember watching a television special many years ago where a man could not sense pain in his hands, and he spoke of burning himself seriously when removing pots and things from inside the oven. One of my neighbors had impaired nociception. The inability to feel pain is quite dangerous.
Since I drive everyday, and am artistic, my sense of sight would be hard to lose.![]()
With my neighbor you could stick needles in his legs and he wouldn't feel a thing. Pain haunts us all but not to feel pain ever is really dangerous.I remember watching a television special many years ago where a man could not sense pain in his hands, and he spoke of burning himself seriously when removing pots and things from inside the oven.
I can't imagine.
I value them all pretty much the sameWhat is your most valued sense of the five senses?
You scared me for a moment there, Gary O', as I was already conjuring up mental images of the other kind of marbles.I value them all pretty much the same
Just glad I have two of most everything
Especially the two marbles rattling around in my skull
Yeah, my sense of touch came into play when I stubbed my pinky toe a couple days ago. What is your most valued sense of the five senses?
I consider the sense of touch as my most valued sense.
I think another sense might be knowing when someone is behind you or knowing you are not alone in a room.
I'm not Marg, but I'm sayin' probablyHey Marg! What about the psychic senses? Telepathy, clairavoyance / Clairaudience? remote viewing/ precognition? and all the rest of it?
Arn't these considered senses?
Oh ya, Gary, Been there People used to laugh at us because in the truck bed, we had a gas can, water can, rope, tool box, chain, and two spare tired! We may have been slighty over-practical. haha!I'm not Marg, but I'm sayin' probably
Of which I have none
No ESP......nothin'
Seems the other (lessor?) senses become more acute when one is lacking in the psychic abilities.
Thus, when living in the mountains for five years, I became acutely aware of basic needs.
I guess that'd be in the common sense dept.
It gave us a good running chance of survival, especially in the middle of winter, when snow and ice would stack rather deep, and groceries and other needful things were 50 rugged miles away.

We never ran out, or even got low of.....anything
Shoot, when we went to town we had six 5 gal gas cans, and six or more propane tanks.People used to laugh at us because in the truck bed, we had a gas can, water can, rope, tool box, chain, and two spare tired! We may have been slighty over-practical. haha!
Nice foot, have you thought of modeling?Yeah, my sense of touch came into play when I stubbed my pinky toe a couple days ago.
Oh yes, Gaer, I would say so!Hey Marg! What about the psychic senxes? Telepathy, clairavoyance / Clairaudience? remote viewing/ precognition? and all the rest of it?
Arn't these considered senses?
More concerned with moldingNice foot, have you thought of modeling?
It's interesting you asked about my vison, yesterday I bought a prescription scuba diving mask.More concerned with molding
(Self; carefully ask Mr Ed when he last had his vision checked)
I agree, and in particular I value my ability to see in glorious technicolour. I love looking at the blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds and the changing colours of sunset.Talking about five senses, all that strikes our minds is eyesight, taste, touch, smell, and hearing.
But do you know that humans have a lot more than just five senses? Scientists have done deep research on this topic and have come up with around 22-23 senses that make us actual human beings.
For me it would be sight. Without my sight I wouldn't want to live.
I have thought of the same more times than I can count, Warrigal. To be blessed with vision from birth and be fortunate enough to enjoy and carry that vision until the end, is a true gift. To be born without vision... I can't even begin to comprehend.I agree, and in particular I value my ability to see in glorious technicolour. I love looking at the blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds and the changing colours of sunset.
I have often wondered how I would cope if I were to lose my sight but I am grateful for all of the memories of beautiful images that I have stored up over my lifetime. I will dwell on those memories and feel myself blessed. Some people have never experienced the gift of sight.
I agree, why would anyone put a pair of binoculars against their ear-holes. That falls into the category of, "you're doing it all wrong".I would have to say my vision, well it's a waste of time putting binoculars against my ear-holes.![]()
