What is your tried and true method of falling asleep?

Usually, a rousing round of getting down will provide for a great night's sleep, once things cool off.

Once in awhile if I can't get to sleep,I try to remember the U. S. states, put them in alphabetical order
After awhile,I'll start to doze off
If its a really humid night,I'll take a quick cold shower before bed, works for me

I usually wake up around 2 AM and stay awake for an hour or two. I've found that doing a crossword puzzle usually makes me sleepy again, and I generally sleep very soundly the second half of the night.
Oh, that 2nd sleep is the best, the very best. It's a conscious drift off into sweet slumber. Nuthin' much like it.

I like the quick, cold shower idea. I'll give it a try. I have noticed that if I'm a little cold, I tend to fall asleep easier.

I had a plan to visit every state and did all but a few then started doing countries until it got dangerous. Now my big trip is to Walmart and even Walmart is getting rough. A short time ago a man said to his wife as they walked by us, ''Just shut the F--- up I don't want to hear it.'' I ask Sweetie what she would do if I said that to her and she just gave me the Italian Chin Flick. I do try to remember all the states , never tried to do them in alphabetical order, hell my brain would start missing out worse than it does now. I would visual a map of the U.S. start with Florida and could do it. I am not sure if there 50 or 51. lol

What's really interesting about tinnitus is that plugging up your ears with earplugs, headphones or fingers doesn't help - it makes it WORSE by making the environment quieter, which makes the tinnitus louder. The noise comes from inside; not outside.

When I put in my earplugs I hear crickets and frogs...works for me...

If I try to read it puts me out pretty quick....

I've been trying to read Killing Kennedy for about 3 weeks now..

It's interesting and I enjoy it... but I just can't seem to keep my eyes open.

I think it's because I wait too late to start reading.

I go to the refrigerator get out the bottle of Sangria wine. Go back to the bedroom and sit on the bed, take the wine bottle and mustering all your strength, smack you head with the bottle. You will definitely go to sleep. Should you fail to sleep on the first try, repeat procedure until you are successful..... Kids, don't try this at home....

I can't remember the last time I had a good nights sleep. I usually wake up an hour after going to bed and then the rest of the night I wake up over and over again. I've tried so many things including Xanax and nothing works for me.
Sounds like my dilemma, Sassycakes. It is just so frustrating! And if I should take a brief nap during the day, it makes the next night's situation worse. I have a lot of aches and pains and am under quite a bit of stress, which adds to the problem. Aargh!

Works like a charm for you guys....😊

I tell friends that I like eating more than anything else.
They're always asking, "What do you mean....what about sex?"
I say, "Yeah, I like sex, too....but only because it makes me hungry."
