There's a local politician who always does that 'me and..' thing..Me and Monica went to the store.
Give the parcel to Monica and I.
I’s and Monica’s parcel has arrived.
One I think is kind of new, probably another fad like Valspeak, Vocalfry, etc., is leaving out some of the letters in words.. for example, there's some ad/commercial on t.v. where the young woman should have said 'student,' but instead says 'stu-ent.'Do young folks shorten words because they really don’t know the full word. I sus that’s what‘s happening. Our dictionaries are changing.
I must be among the very few who not only isn't annoyed by "it is what it is,"
Those central consonants seem to give lots of people trouble and it drives me crazy. When I lived in the south I got very tired of hearing people change the "t" to a "d, saying impordant for important. All the time. Nancy Grace is a criminal lawyer who can't pronounce sentence. She always says sennance. One I think is kind of new, probably another fad like Valspeak, Vocalfry, etc., is leaving out some of the letters in words.. for example, there's some ad/commercial on t.v. where the young woman should have said 'student,' but instead says 'stu-ent.'
If it's just another fad, I hope it goes away soon!![]()
As much as I hate this I have to admit that there have been times when I couldn't think of anything else to say that remotely covered the situation any better!!!It is what it is.
