I'm with you, Old Salt.
That's another great song! Thanks!
Awwww... that's so sweet. This came out just a couple years after my mother died. It really struck me how accurately he described the feelings of losing the person you felt closest to. I did consider it my anthem.
Doris Day hated this song and it became one of her most requested.
Sorry for my reply. I was only thinking of how close you and your mom were. It's very sad actually that she's gone and that's your songThis came out just a couple years after my mother died. It really struck me how accurately he described the feelings of losing the person you felt closest to. I did consider it my anthem.
Good song!
I wonder what ever happened to her.
She passed away at age 96 a few years ago.I wonder what ever happened to her.
Thank. You, I didn't realize that. She passed away at age 96 a few years ago.
This song makes me cry when I hear it. I was listening to this when I heard my friend was killed fighting a fire. He was a fireman and it was heartbreaking. This came out just a couple years after my mother died. It really struck me how accurately he described the feelings of losing the person you felt closest to. I did consider it my anthem.
Doris never hated this song at all. She was reluctant to record it as a single, as she thought it should be included in an album geared toward children. However, she went ahead and did the recording, and when The Man Who Knew Too Much used it as its theme song, it took off. The rest is history, and she was very pleased with it.Doris Day hated this song and it became one of her most requested.
So do I, hate even more that it pops into my head from time to time.Doris Day hated this song
