What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Miss Potter - the life of beatrice potter was the most enchanting tale of all - Renee Zellweger ; Ewan McGregor and Emily Watson - weave into that the majestic Lake District of UK ; a tragic love story then another love story ; Beatrice Potter did marry in the end ; became a millionnairess and spent pots of her monies on saving the Lake District from the ravages of urbanization and destruction of traditional farming. Loved visiting her home in 2000 and managed to avoid the rain!

ps: best viewed in the privacy of ya own home - ideally alone with a dvd player!

Airport 1975

This was by far the funniest of the Airport film franchise. A lot of the scenes from the Airplane parody movie were taken directly from this movie. I have to say one thing for it... it wasn't boring, but it was unintentionally hilarious. :ROFLMAO:

Last night on Major League Baseball Channel I watched ' A League of Their Own''92 which I hadn't seen in awhile. Its the story of All American Girls Professional Baseball League which started when male baseball players were fighting in WWII.
A great cast, Tom Hanks, Geena Davis,Lori Petty, Madonna, Gary Marshall, David Strathairn, Rosie O'Donnell,Jon Lovitz, movie was directed by Penny Marshall. Madonna's song' This Use to be My Playground' is sung as the credits roll, showing real life women players portrayed in the movie. They are playing a game against each other

I watched "W." last night. I expected a satire about George W. Bush but the movie didn't treat him all that badly. It showed a sincere but fallible man (and hellion in his youth) who was being influenced by bad advisers and false intelligence to start the war in Iraq! Mind you, he didn't come across as totally blameless but Oliver Stone softened that aspect. Josh Brolin did an incredible job as W.

The Invisible Extinction; 2022; 1 hr., 25 min.; rented it from Amazon Prime Video; documentary about the public health emergency caused by the loss of our ancestral microbes (especially those in the gut) and the diseases caused by the loss; excellent!

Driveways (2019) 1 hour 23 minutes FreeVee (with ads) through Amazon Prime.

Eight-year-old Cody is spending the summer in an unfamiliar setting with his mom Kathy. Though he can't relate to the neighborhood kids, things take an unexpected turn when he develops an unusual friendship with grouchy old Del from next door.

Brian Dennehy, Hong Chau & Lucas Jaye

Shall We Dance - Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. What a great movie, all about a bored office worker who decides to take up Ballroom dancing. Well worth watching especially the Tango scene with Gere and Lopez. Never knew he could dance so well. *****

"The Great Imposter" (1960) on TCM. Based, somewhat loosely, on the true story of Ferdinand Waldo Demara, a bright young man and high school dropout who hasn't the patience for the normal way of advancement and finds that people rarely question you if your papers are in order. He illegally posed as a variety of professionals in the 1950s. He becomes a marine, a monk, a surgeon onboard a Canadian warship, and a prison warden. Starring Tony Curtis, Robert Mulligan, Arthur O'Connell, Edmond O'Brien, Gary Merrill, Karl Malden, and Raymond Massey.
I enjoyed this film!

My honorary daughter treated me to The Little Mermaid which we saw in the theater on Memorial Day. She knows I absolutely love mermaids. I wanted to support that movie because the bigots and haters took issue with Disney casting a Black actress as Ariel, the main character. Halle Bailey did a wonderful job and she is a beautiful young woman with a beautiful voice. I thought it was cute. Loved the crab character...the only thing that would make him cooler would be a pair of sunglasses. 😎 The only thing I was disappointed about is that the mermaid tales looked costume-y, not like real fish tales (like in Madonna's Cherish video). But I think they did that because they wanted everything to be colorul.

Not a movie, but finished the last of ten episodes last night of "Picard" (Star Trek) on Paramount+. My son insisted I watch so he can talk about it with me! I raised him right!
A couple of trusted people told me I should watch Picard, one is a staunch T.V. buff who manages a T.V. group on Facebook. How sweet that you and your son watched together. So would you also recommend Picard if it wasn't for your son's insistence?

@officerripley I always thought Brian Dennehy was sexy even though stocky guys were not my type. Apparently I was not alone. I've heard him referred to as "a sexy senior citizen". :)
