What was you all time favorite automobile?

i have to say a VW beetle for me, too. the first time we every had 2 cars was when i was in college... 1969. dad brought a brand new, green beetle... not much more than $1200 total. no radio... made a stop at Sears, cut that hole in dash et voila... rock & roll! thought i knew how to drive stick until i encountered my first UP hill start! i remember it was the ONLY car to start after a big snow storm in the Poconos.

had a bright orange super beetle (72) that we drove to Florida on first trip to Disney World. a car without AC is horrible, whether in SE PA or 1500 miles away in the middle of Florida, but remember we didn't spend much more than $50 for gas on the entire trip.

My Fiat Spider. Bought this car for $250 that had a blown head gasket. Fix that myself and it was a great car. My cousin is on left (passed now) I'm on the right. This was taken while I was going to collage.

MG WA2.jpg
Back in the 1930' the MG car company produced this. The MG WA. Only a few hundred were made due to the factory ceasing car production and going over to products for the military as WW2 loomed.

The MG YA, a scaled down, smaller version of that car was ready for production but had to wait until the war's end.

That Y-Type is just about all I could find given the prices of classic MG's. How I would have loved the MG WA.
But all said and done My wife and I are more than happy with our Y-Type, it's an ongoing love affair.

Not a 'vehicle' person, but if I had to pick I'd say the F250 Stick Shift Diesel HD Extended Cab that I used to haul the 5th Wheel, (my late wife always wanted to RV, and it was her turn to choose).

After she died I was in Toronto, and someone commented about the drivers on the 401 highway who "Wouldn't let you in"......I said "I dunno, I just flip the indicator and change lanes...easy peasy".

Now we have a Subaru with all wheel drive, stick shift of course, very happy with it.

We ordered a new 1978 Camero LT, saffron in color with white leather seats. That car would take me anywhere I wanted to go, never stuck in the snow or ice. Boy, did I enjoy that vehicle. Of course, it could have been the time and place for me, too. Young, happy and in love with my hubby. Picture below is the car described, but not ours.1978_chevrolet_camaro-pic-8200824126306784008-1600x1200.jpeg

I'm torn between the 1965 Chevy Impala SS & The 1965 Dodge Dart (pushbutton transmission)

The Impala could haul 3-4 bodies in the trunk, but the dart was a nimble little car great for parking in small areas

i learned to drive on a dodge dart with that push-button transmission. probably close to perfect car to learn on and take that driver's test. not very big. probably a 6 cylinder. power steering but regular brakes.

I had a gold colored one, Z28, same year.

Best family car I ever had was a Toyota station wagon. I think it was made in the 80s. That sucker thought it was made of iron.

I also really liked my 90-something Mazda. Neither of those cars had a Kryptonite. Bought them used, they ran great for years, and then I sold them.

I've never bought a car for looks, special performance, or status. All I wanted was maneuverability, reliability, and convenience (in loading & unloading kids, groceries, and stuff like camping gear). Keeping them well-maintained was a serious hobby for me.

Did you know Mazda started out as a Japanese cork-making factory?...and then they started making machines and their parts sometime in the 20s or 30s, I think.

I had a couple of Fiats, all had overhead cam 128 engines. Got so good at fixing them, I became the go to guy around town for them. :) The one that stands out was my Fiat X19 Bertone. That little mid engine baby handled like a go cart. What a blast to drive.

Yup, had..the first..'64 Mustang...Chantilly Gold
I painted my 64 mustang with 1969 Cadillac cinnamon gold paint. (man, did it sparkle). Wish I had a better picture of it. Ended up totaled with a bent uni-body when I swerved to miss a dog in the road and hit a cement bridge. :( While the hit didn't look all that bad after I hammered the fender out some, it wasn't worth fixing with the frame diamonded.

My BIL brother was out with a friend, they swerved to avoid a dog, rolled the car down an embankment. He stated emphatically "I'll never swerve for a #_&&#@#$_ dog again"
