What Weather Effect has on your health

Do you believe that the weather has any kind of effect on your health?
Example do you believe that humidity has an effect with someone that has arthritis? Do you believe rainy days causes people to be moody and depressed? Do you believe that sunny days in rare cases can make someone a little more hyper than usual?

What do you think about this and any other weather type?

In a way it is medical because it effects muscles and bones. My doctor asked me if I wanted to be put on medication. I absolutely don't want any medication if I don't absolutely need it. I asked about what I could do at home remedies.. Ibuprofen if you really need it and no more than 1000mg per day. Note: it can raise your blood pressure. So I never take maximum any more. Sometimes if the pain is very mild I just suffer through it.

You bet! I spent six years in the Detroit area, suffering through Detroit winters. I'd get bronchitis in November and have it until April. The last year up there, I was diagnosed with developing emphysema because of the chronic bronchitis. I've never smoked, so can't blame it on that.

The happiest day of my life was moving to Florida. I didn't have a case if bronchitis for 30 years. I'm back to getting it about every year but at least it's over after a round of antibiotics.

Not sure, but I know I feel better on warm sunny days. I do like a good rainstorm as well.

Snow is something I could have done with seeing once, but no more...
Yep without any shadow of a doubt, humidity and rain causes my Arthritis flares
Mine too, but so does dry weather, most any weather in fact.

One of my aunts said the best environments for people who have either arthritis or allergies are areas with "dry desert heat." I do believe she was correct.
I hear that all the time myself. My Dad wanted to move to Arizona. But he also wanted to go to Florida to live near a cousin.
You know where he ended up?

For the love of his kids he stayed right where he was in Illinois. I never realized what pressure he was getting from all kinds of family that he kept saying no to.
I wish I had the chance to thank him for doing that for me :(

I get migraines that are much worse during rainy periods. It is strange that I love rainy cloudy days. The winter I like because it keeps the swelling down in my sinuses and ears caused by the migraines. I can breathe better and my tinnitus is very light. I don't have arthritis but I am sure that must create pain. I do find that my replaced hip seems to ache a little in the winter.

It depends what type of asthma you have. I have a type that would probably go away per my doctor if I moved to a cold climate.

I will say most definitely. When low pressure moves into my area I feel terrible. I get all the symptoms of a bad cold and a feeling of general malaise.

Since I got my new left hip, I find that the weather sometimes affects that leg. I can predict the rain some times. I find it only mildly bothersome, as it is just more discomfort than anything.

Weather has no effect on my health.
At my previous size, I hated hot weather. Now, I hate cold weather. I don't mind rainy weather unless I'm driving - due to idiots on the road.
I think people who say they're affected by weather are affected psychologically more than physically.

Yes I know high humidity bothers my arthritis. Also, I have Seasonal Affect Disorder which is not just in my head, it's very real and at times I get very down.
I suffer from S.A.D as well. It's horrible, and I try to combat it by going outside as long as I can during the day. Winter time is the worst where I live so I try different things to alleviate it, like being outside in daytime, etc.

OP was written at one oh five. Reply from roomie at one oh six. Got this crazy picture in my mind of the two of you sitting in your living room typing together. Am I wrong? Same room or different rooms for 1:05 and 1:06? Just very curious.

guess I enjoy minutia.

There's another forum- not specifically for seniors- which, for a long time, had two members ( a couple that posted regularly). Turned out neither of these members were real people- just some scammer posing as both. It sure fooled me!!

Not saying this is the case with OP, just a thought.
