What will you never economise on...?

Here in the Uk prices have rocketed sky high in the last few months, so clearly, many of us have to seriously curtail our spending and have or will have to accept cheaper versions of things we are used to.. or even do without.

I've been desperately poor in the distant past.. and if I have to I will know how to cut back and live without a lot of what I've been used to having.... altho' I hope it doesn't come to that..

For now however, I enjoy what I have ..

My wardrobe of made to measure clothes, my collection of Hawaiian shirts, my shoes, hats. My vintage MG.
But, they are just my foibles, as long as the lady who said yes when I proposed all those years ago, is by my side until journey's end, that's all I ask for.
Ahem, do you remember the actor, Paul Freeman? He played the part of Dr. Rene Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

My tailor is making me a similar suit of that era.

You must get the shoes too, unless you already have them of course. I think I have seen a photo of you wearing a similar hat?

Tish I had it done at a Discount Salon... they work on price budget, that everything is £16... so if we're having something basic like a cut and blow dry .. it's £16 per item... and that works out cheaper than other salons ... however if we were to have more ..then it's another £16 for each and every procedure.. and that can be expensive ..
A couple of months ago, I had my hair cut to a chin length bob as I needed it to be easier to manage and it cost £75 in central London which was actually not the most expensive salon. I guess they have high rates to pay and they are trying to make up for their losses during Covid and, to be fair, it is a good cut. Your hair looks very nice (y)

It's women who are reputed to be shoe addicts. Perhaps I have a lot of my mother's DNA. Here's a few of my shoes.

The only shoes that I remember seeing where I shop for my shoes are the wingtips. I have one pair, but they are a solid color. I like a wider toe, like a Florsheim, Cole Hann or Saint Laurent. Fendi are also a good shoe, but more than I care to pay for something I’m going to walk in.

I won;t while I'm able.. economise on self care.. Haircuts.. nails all the things that many women do.. to look decent .. and that includes good quality Sun factor lotion.. and moisturiser.. not necessarily expensive but good quality...

hair cut and blow dry today... just £32.. plus tip... at a discount hair salon... it's as good as any cut and blow dry I've had at an upmarket hair salon.. which cost £150..
