What word should you not say if you get a spam call?

The kicker, as other posters have said, is them getting you to say "Yes". "Do you own your home?" "Yes". "Do you own a late model automobile?" "Yes". "Are you planning on taking a vacation this year?" "Yes". All of these phone conversations are recorded. These recordings can be edited to put your "Yes" as an answer to any question they ask.
One time, a caller asked me:
Do you read?

I said No, :sneaky: and I hung up.
But it made me laugh, even though it's an awful practise.

No, I never read anything.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::geek::geek::geek:

Spam calls used to be quite annoying, but no more. Here's an example.
Me: Hello.
Them: silence ..... click, Hello John?
Me: Hi!
Them: John?
Me: Hello?
Them: Hi John, bla bla bla on and on....
Me: Hello!
Them: bla bla bla..... pause.... are you there?
Me: Hi!
Them: John?
Me: Hey!
Them: bla bla bla.....
Me: Hello?
Them: pause............ click.

When they ask "Is this XYZ?" I usually just hang up. If I'm in a feisty mood, before I hang up I'll just say "It's none of your business who this is!"

"Would you agree to a 30 day trial of our product?" "Yes". "Wouldn't you like to subscribe to our warranty for your vehicle?" "Yes".

Then the bills will arrive. You will toss them. Collection agencies will call. They have your voice and your "Yes" on a recorded phone conversation.

The best advice, again as others have stated, is to just hang up. Or... have the old police whistle nearby and blow that into the phone as loud as you can... then hang up!!!
That is exactly right. They can splice your "yes" into any recording.

I've been known to just say, "hold on a minute", lay the phone down and don't pick it up again for several minutes. They eventually hang up. I suppose I could just hang up, but I kind of like wasting their time like they waste mine!

Most of the nuisance calls are from India. One of my Indian friends taught me to say "mother ****er" in Hindi (?). It appears that my number has been deleted from their "auto dial".
Yea and I love it when the guy says that his name is something like Bill or Tom. It's obvious that he is not a Bill or a Tom!
