if you were talking to someone and right in mid-sentence they turned away and started talking to someone else or just walked away from you?
Wow, that's bold!I got tired of this happening and once confronted the person. I said "Excuse me, I was still talking to you." She said, "But I was through listening."
It's rude and I don't mean to laugh but that actually sounds like something I would say!I got tired of this happening and once confronted the person. I said "Excuse me, I was still talking to you." She said, "But I was through listening."
Sounds about right.Someone once mentioned to me that if you have to tell someone something, do it in 10 words or less because they stop listening after that. Sounds like the limit of the human attention span.
Brevity is not one of my gifts. I can say in 20 words what most people can say in 5 words. Not apologizing!I would see if their hearing aids were working and if so, walk away and forget it, their loss. On a different note Calvin Coolidge did have it right, he was said to be a man of few words and one reporter said to him “I bet you I can get you to say more than three words.” Coolidge said, “you lose.”
I would think I bored that person. I would walk away humiliated.
