I'd think they either had a problem with what I was saying or that they were just rude.

I would not take it personally. Some people are rude and don't know it. That has happened to me many times. It's usually men who do that.

This did happen to me couple years at church with a member who I thought I knew,guess I was mistaken.I was quite surprise& really po'd at what she did. I wanted to tell her off right in front of everybody and embarass her but decided against it.At the time I thought'was our conversation that boring'?
To this day whenever I see her at church,I avoid her

I got tired of this happening and once confronted the person. I said "Excuse me, I was still talking to you." She said, "But I was through listening."

I've had it happen to me and it hurts but it also helps me understand just where I fit into that person's life, I accept it and move on.

Someone once mentioned to me that if you have to tell someone something, do it in 10 words or less because they stop listening after that. Sounds like the limit of the human attention span.

Calvin Coolidge got it right.
I would see if their hearing aids were working and if so, walk away and forget it, their loss. On a different note Calvin Coolidge did have it right, he was said to be a man of few words and one reporter said to him “I bet you I can get you to say more than three words.” Coolidge said, “you lose.”

I would think they were either rude, or that they don't care for me or don't like me,
so in either case,
I would avoid them in the future.
It would make me feel sad for just a few minutes, till I remember that I don't need everyone to like me,
which is good, because some will and some won't, which I cannot change or control.
That person wouldn't be a good friend or match for me, anyway.

Just the act of it. But no friend would do that to me.
