It would be difficult for me to be truthful about the value of life.

What Holly said.

The term right to die has been interpreted in many ways, including issues of suicide, passive euthanasia, active euthanasia, assisted suicide, and physician-assisted suicide.

Right to die - Wikipedia.

I would say it may be the last choice you make.
Can I get a show of hands?
The ays have it pull the plug

"You're gonna linger, near death for years & in incredible pain, if you screw this up!" It may be days or weeks before anyone cares to look for you, there suffering. You want to study the most effective methods, choose wisely and pre practice it. You shouldn't expect any caring assistance afterwords, you're on your own. Best to ya, but seriously I doubt you ask me about it or for assistance!

Depends on the reason. What if they were dying anyway of a horrible disease, and are near the end? That's one extreme where I would agree with them, but all I could offer them is my emotional support.

At the other end of the scale, what if they were a distraught teenager whose girlfriend had just broken up with them?

It's all in the reasons.
