Whats For Dinner/Supper ?

Someone gave me a box of taco shells so tonight was designated as taco night. Of course I had to buy a bunch of stuff including soft tacos and all the fixin's to make it complete. At least it inspired me and the housemates to have a little fun. And they were really good!

An omelette for brunch but, not just any old omelette! this one was filled with sweet red peppers, mushrooms, spinach and some feta cheese, I think I might get the chef to make one every day ;)

Brunch filled us up so, for dinner, we just had a wrap filled with salmon, avocado, rocket and tomatoes. I also made a fresh fruit salad to have with Greek yogurt but, I don't think we will eat it tonight so, it will probably be tomorrow's breakfast/brunch. :)

Fixed a chef salad for supper. Why don't they ever taste as good the ones you get in restaurants? They have the same ingredients.
I think it's the dressing. The closest I have found to the dressing you get in restaurants is balsamic and olive oil dressing. You can buy it in supermarkets but, here is a recipe I am going to try. I have made something similar before, without the mustard and shallot and it was pretty good, especially with some ground up garlic added.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a jam jar for which you have a lid and screw the lid on tightly.
  2. Shake the jar vigorously for 30 seconds, then taste and add a drizzle of honey or agave if you prefer. Store covered in the fridge for up to three days before using.
  3. Shake the contents of the jar again just before pouring over your salad.

Sounds good. I like sauerkraut - you reminded me to add it to the shopping list :)
Sauerkraut makes a quick egg roll in a bowl.

Sauerkraut drained and rinsed, onion, garlic, fried breakfast sausage crumbles, season with soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and hot chili paste.

The same basic mixture can be made with a bag of prepared coleslaw mix instead of sauerkraut.
