What's happening with you now?

Yes @Murrmurr, I take my time, don't have to get everything done at one time or even the same day. Just unloaded the dishwasher and scrubbed the kithchen sink. Now I am sitting. Next will be the floors. I hate the floors but when you have a dog that sheds (2 of them don't shed) it is almost an everyday event. I keep the house clean just for me now. No longer an obession.

I am going to check it out when the time comes. I will work that person to the bone. If they are being paid to do a job, they will do the job. I will say that my widow neighbor has someone come 3 days a week 8 hours a day. She is much older than me and needs help with the house. This person also does grocery shopping, takes her to the doctor if needed. Helps with meals, laundry, cleans. I will say that she is lucky, they get along like friends so she has a company in the house.

Right now I am signed in on the Senior Forum. I am strolling around and listening to what is happening with all the folks here. I am also becoming interested in how the context of how my thoughts form. My thoughts form out of a certain "mood" my mind/body is experiencing. When I am in pain or confused/upset my thoughts can become dark...and I "create" thoughts that are negative and disturbing. If I choose to stop that and guide my mind to a different mood/context the negativity stops. I like this exercise...and I need it. :)
I like how you can change from feeling gloomy to something better. I try to do that too at times and ought to more often. Makes the day seem more worthwhile.

Seems like all the items in the house that have filters wanted them replaced at the same time - coffeemaker, air purifiers, vacuum cleaner, water pitcher. Next I guess it will be those things with batteries wanting new ones. Never ends. So that’s done. Beware of those insurance nurse “case managers”. I am pestered almost daily with phone calls demanding I call back and enroll in that service. A friend who has the same insurance coverage accepted the service and she said they wanted to come weekly and told her she had to remove all the rugs in her house, rearrange the furniture, stop going out to eat so much, change her meds, confine her pet in a kennel, etc. She said she had to jump through all kinds of hoops to cancel the service and that they still call encouraging her to enroll again. Nope.
I had a scary incident with the ER about two weeks ago. It was a suspected TIA. Next thing you know, they are putting in orders for a script for a cholesterol medication, and trying to fix me up with some nurse. I am a retired health care professional, and I don't need anyone telling me what to do.

I will just tell them that I am in training to be a cantankerous cat lady! ;)

Just don't feel you HAVE to, or that you have to complete every chore. I break the chores up; like, wash the silverware and then sit for 10 minutes while the glasses soak. Sometimes I sweep and vacuum one day and mop the next. There's no rush.
That is how I do it. Actually I like cleaning my apartment. I love when I get done and it looks so clean. So I keep up on it and it never looks messy. I suppose that is why I don't want an aide coming in here messing it up.

No, the recipe I tried gave the choice of freezing the custard then mixing it again, to break up the ice crystals, or using a machine. I plan to get one, to make the next time easier, though!
Too bad we didn't live closer, I'd give you my almost new Cuisinart ice cream maker. I bought it last fall but ended up buying the Ninja Creami instead and so now I have two.

Let me know if it comes like the normal ice cream consistency. When I had an ice cream maker (decades ago), I had to put the cylinder in the freezer and the ice cream was "too frozen" and never the desired consistency.
The Ninja Creami is different. You freeze it in the little containers in the freezer and they fit right into the holder on the Creami and it makes ice cream real creamy! But it is VERY loud! Sounds like a chainsaw.

Right now I am taking a break from kitchen chores. Going to put the chicken and burgers in the NuWave oven for supper. It is a very quiet day here today. I wrote a blog post but haven't published it yet since I need to find a couple more photos for it. I got a lot done today by not being on fakebook.

I would love a burger as soon as I can get one. It's funny, I never make them at home but should. I usually go to BK and get a Bacon King--very filling! Enjoy your supper!

Right now I've just been uploading hard copy pictures of me and daughter taken in the 70's which have been stored in a box, and in an Album .. she was just a baby of course.. and it's so cute to look at her back then, she was such a smiley baby..

Funny looking at me in my early 20's..I rarely had a photo taken then because we couldn't afford to have them developed.. so when I look at the few I do have, I look soooo young.. and sooo slim. Mind you the enormous flared trousers help to make my legs look very skinny anyway but regardless ..I did look very young..:D

Great ideas about uploading those photos. Are you going to post them here? I'd like to see them. I too have looked at some old photos of myself and I was slim then, too. The years do change us but I'm getting used to looking older now. It's our inner self that really matters most and not the outer.
