Whats this falling from my tree's?

Sure looks like a Black Walnut. When growing up we had a large tree in our backyard. For many season we gathered them up, dried them, cracked and munched on them. They did get my hands black, but i didn't care back then.
I also lived in a cottage for a few years that was right under a sprawling one. I know what you mean about the noise! :)

Have no knowledge of black walnuts, but these look like horse apples.
Are they as large as small apples, filled with seeds, hard exterior can certainly dent tin roof

It looks like a black walnut, to me. we have dozens of walnut trees in our forest, and a half dozen in the yard area that I keep mowed. This time of year, when mowing, it's like hitting rocks when I mow around the walnut trees. At least, the squirrels are having a ball running around with a huge walnut in their mouth.

i'm going with black walnuts too. a lot of hard work if ya wanna eat them. i remember dad stopping on some back, country road and we picked up probably 20-25 lbs of the things. he pretty much knew NOTHING about them. he figured maybe drying them out would make them easier to get into. he built a box/shelf up on our garage roof... direct sun all day. he came home one day and the "old man" who lived next-door was laughing hysterically. he would sit in his rocker on his porch all day long, but had new entertainment. he told dad, squirrels would come from all over, trot down our driveway and come back with a walnut... ALL DAY LONG... they were about half gone!
