What's weighing on your mind today?

Still awaiting to hear how you're doing! Keep thinkin about ya!
Hi Paulina. If you are thinking of me and my Watchman, thank you.
I went in at 5AM Friday for an outpatient appointment. It turned out to be more of an extended inpatient adventure.
During the procedure they had to administer CPR. Fortunately I was under general anethetic. The Watchman was successfully implanted. Then came lots of tests. My heart is weak but has somewhat recovered from Friday's event. I thought they had cracked ribs during the CPR but an x-ray today confirmed that they are just bruised and should recover faster than a break.
So I got home at 4 PM this afternoon and I feel grateful.

* Years ago, I expressed the thought that I saw little difference between contraception and the "morning after" pill since both actions accomplished the same result.
What was your point when you thought that? What about a vasectomy? That also accomplishes the same result.

There is an organization called Save a Fox, and they do what you'd expect.

They have a very active Youtube channel, and most of them feature the Foxes - of course! - and a young woman named Mikayla Raines. While I never met the lady, she clearly had a heart of gold and truly loved caring for these poor abused creatures. She dedicated her life to caring for the creatures, taking them from fur farms and making them healthy again. She was a very special human being.

I learned today that Mikayla had passed away at her own hand. It's tragic. Like many faces on the internet, she had a complex life outside of the persona we all got to see, along with some illnesses. She also had suffered a lot of abuse over the internet. I don't know anything more, but she was such a caring, vulnerable person, and I'm sad she chose this path.

Oh, me too. If a bomb is going to be dropped anywhere near me, let it be right over my head.
Actually, I do worry about that exact thing because you're right, the survival instinct is so strong.

I hope I'll never have to make that choice. With recent events my anxiety has been really bad lately.
l've already been tested vis a vis the survival instinct. l just only wanted to die quick.

I'm so afraid of retaliation from Iran for the bombing from my country. I'm afraid political zealots will attack Americans anywhere arbitrarily as we try to go about living our lives. I've never felt so afraid before and I may retire because I don't want to be out and about everyday anymore. I no longer feel safe and just dread work now. Something has to give. I'm too old to live what's left of my life feeling terrified.

There was no point. My wife and I were discussing how we felt about contraception, abortion, and other such matters in light of news stories which were current that time.

There was no need for me to have a vasectomy. My wife was on birth control pills.
