What's your coming-in-the-house routine?

Do you change shoes or take them off before you go inside? Ladies, what about your bag? Coats? Umbrella? Packages? Mail? Etc.

Ron's work shoes are usually nasty. He takes his shoes off in the mud/laundry room before he heads inside. I do the same after work, when I work in the garden etc. I have flip flops and he has slippers that are by the door, and we either slip into those, or head on in barefoot or in socks.

There are coat hooks in the mud/laundry room too, along with a closet. My bag gets hung on one of the coat hooks, and our coats in the closet. Sometimes we'll hang coats on the coat hooks and put them away later. If the umbrella is wet, it sits outside on the back porch till it's dry, then it's rolled and hung up on one of the hooks. If we have packages or mail or stuff to bring in other than groceries, they get set on one of the two laundry room counters to be dealt with later.

If I'm not wearing something with pockets, I'll take my phone out of my bag and set it on the kitchen counter. If I have pockets, it just stays with me.

Soon as all that's done, I rip off my bra 😂 Well, as long as we're staying home that is! Change clothes too, into more casual/comfy wear, or PJ's if it's night time.

Shoes are a big no-no in our home, so shoes/boots/outdoor footwear is promptly removed at the door, and while there is a row of coat and hat hooks in the entry, we usually take our coats and jackets to the bedroom and hang them in the closet, reserving the entryway hooks for outdoor work and gardening clothes.

My handbag with purse and all inside, get's draped over my kitchen chair, because it seems I'm always going into it for something or another. As for my umbrella, it gets stood in the corner of the entry when wet, and keys are stowed-away in our night-tables in the bedroom.

Love my house-wear, meaning my kick-around or relaxing clothes, so whatever I have on when I arrive home get's stripped off, and I welcome instead, a comfy pair of sweats and loose top, or a pair of shorts with an open armed top... whatever time of year it is determines what I wear in the house, but I always wear comfy things inside that I can relax in, and in addition to relaxing indoor wear, slippers, if it's during the winter months.

I also always wash my hands first thing when I get home, and that's been a longstanding routine of mine long before Covid-19.

Shoes off, coat put in entry closet, handbag/phone put on special chair, wash hands (long-time habit), change into comfy clothes. No bra - of course! Wet umbrella goes into shower stall, opened up until dry.

I feel I should mention that we have a Coming-in-the-house Covid protocol that I adhere to as well. There’s hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and alcohol on the stand outside the back door.

We sanitize our hands and spray the bottoms of our shoes before we come inside (even though there’s Hand sanitizer in all our vehicles and in my purse that we use copiously while we’re out) And depending on what we’re bringing in, we might also spray or wipe down that too.

Take leash off dog. Wash hands. Shoes off in the entrance to the dining room. Mask off and put in mask box on table.

When I go out without the dog I take my purse and when I get back my purse is the first thing off and hang it on a chair in the dining room. Then I wash my hands and then I take off my shoes.

I take off my mask and hang it on a hook by the door, slide my sandals off and put my slippers on, drop my keys in a container on a small bookcase on the way to the bathroom, use it and wash my hands (always have done that). After that I usually remove my bra unless I am going out again or someone is coming over.
