When feeling a little down, what is your best way out?

I do drugs.
Do you share? I have some prime BC Bud to contribute.😈😁
Of course. More fun that way.
Shall I bring booze, and snacks? Chippendales?😁πŸ₯³
Distraction ... whatever it takes!
Join Pepper and I. 😁
LOL! I was waiting for an invitation. πŸ˜‰ You know, I'm in! 😁

When/if you are in a 'funk' or mild depression or just feeling a bit down or 'out of sorts' what is your best method to get out of it? I usually use music and a lot of self-talk. I don't really like complaining to a friend so I try to get out of it on my own. Meditation is good. Exercise helps me and my favorite form is dancing to an 'oldie but goodie" song especially one that takes me back to a great memory. If you also do this, what song do you choose.
I am curious how others handle these feelings..
Be thankful for what you've got!

My go-to method is to eat and watch movies. If I'm feeling down because I'm avoiding chores then I try to do a few itsy bitsy teeny weeny chores because I read (or heard) that our brains experience the same chemical after we complete a task that drug users experience. And that seems to be true, getting even tiny tasks done feels really good.

It's funny! But it's true!

Fact is today is my 64th birthday and I have nobody to share it with
You are not alone. Not many of us survive to reach 64 so celebrate that we made it, whether others share it with us or not. Others just don't know what they are missing.

When I get really down, I know my vit. D levels are off so I increase the dose. Sometimes, I like listening to the 59th St. Bridge song. For some reason after the loss of friend, Sunday Morning Coming Down or Bridge Over Troubled Water gets the pain out a little.

When I'm feeling down, it's usually because I'm ruminating about something negative that happened in the past. All it takes is for me to force myself back into the present and think about my plans for the future. Not that I have anything spectacular in the wings. It's more just little things like what I'm going to build in my shop or what I need to fix in the house. Goals are what move us forward in life, and at this age, little goals are best.

For me, I'll pull out my DVD music video, "Cher: The Farewell Tour".
IMO it is without any doubt the very best concert I ever saw. And, believe me, I've seen nearly all of the great bands of the 60's and 70's.
Cher puts on a fabulous show. No doubt about it, she is the only true diva.
Impossible to be sad when watching this Cher concert. :)

Old R mentioned that ice cream helps him out of the blues and I can agree with his method, but, ice cream is quite a bit more than that to me.
If I'm feeling brassed off with the world, I open my big freezer and count the tubs of the tongue magic three or four times, then I sort of empty a tub (usually with a shovel) and then order another 6 tubs.....just to be on the safe side. 😊

That is so true..I learned to let go of past hurts, fears, regrets...pretty much most of them. If a thought comes I can now more easily dismiss it w/o adding emotion...and then I try to stay focused on the present and goals for the future...
