Where’s your favourite place to take an out-of-town guest?

Everyone wants to visit The tower of London or the London eye.. or the myriad of museums.. or Trafalgar square or the Christmas lights... or Buckingham Palace.. or Big Ben..or London Bridge... or Camden Market... or the houses of parliament... lots of places to take them...

..so where do I take them ?....

Down the pub... 🥂 cheers !
How long has the London eye been operating?
Have you been for a sloooooow spin?
It looks like it goes really slooooowly...
I suppose people want to walk over the London Bridge lest it fall down?

It does go slow, very slow. but each capsule is like a small room. Lots of space to walk around and see the city from different views.
The London Bridge is pretty nondescript. Now the Tower Bridge is the one that is most people associate with London.

We were in Bar Harbor in late September. It was wonderful, although still pretty crowded with tourists. Charming little town.
Bar Harbor is nice, but much too commercialized and touristy for me. A little south, Camden is a much nicer town to get the New England feel. Kennebunkport, Boothbay Harbor are also nice. Just don't do Kennebunkport during the first two weeks of December. Christmas Prelude is the first two week, very crowded.
Typically, the best time for the Cape and New England attractions is Mid September to mid October. B&B prices come down a little, small shops have some good sales before the shop owners head south for the winter.

Depends on the age of the people who visit.
The young ones (who are of legal drinking age) want to go downtown and enjoy the
Broadway music scene.

Our older friends, we will get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, then a drive though
the Great Smoky Mountains State Park.

One couple has been coming out to visit for years from Nebraska, to attend a Pro Football game.
We have a great time together, just sitting around catching up.

They bring us Venison Roast and Sausage and we get them some 'Shine' to take back...

The London eye has been going since 1999...yes I've been on... I went on for my 60th birthday ... The pods are huge and each holds a lot of people, yes it goes very slowly..... and you get to see right over the city while on it..if it's clear. Unfortunately it wasn't all that clear when I went on.. and I felt completely underwhelmed..by it..I felt I could have got the same experience by going to the top of the shard.. at least there's a restaurant and bar there

Why is it called Mammoth cave. Mammoth bones of rather large?
Mammoth Cave is the largest cave system in the world.
Quote: "With over 365 miles of surveyed passageways, Mammoth Cave is over twice as long as any known cave. How long might it be? Geologists think there could be 600 miles of undiscovered passageways."
