According to most of the Bible, the general concept was that he lives in Heaven. But, does that mean another dimension, or outside of our galaxy, or beyond the boundaries of the universe, or a parallel universe?
On the other hand, some believe that God is omnipresent (Meaning everywhere). However, that would mean he is in evil people as well as God's chosen, and he is a resident of strip clubs and cage matches (Meaning there is nowhere you could go where he isn't present). But, it could mean he is in all nature as a life force (In which case "He" isn't a male), but just an essence and is actually life itself, perhaps even without consciousness.
Some choose to believe that if you become a Christian, then God dwells in your heart (Which must be your consciousness), in which case it gets a bit murky, because either your neural connections are now altered, and you either have multiple personalities, or you now possess a divine personality. If a divine presence occupies your mind, are you now God, and am I conversing with you or God, or is there a location in the brain that is God's dwelling? When God speaks to you, is he inside your head, and if so, where exactly? If you don't physically hear a voice, how do you know it's not your own thoughts?
Many talk about going to Heaven after they die, but where is that? Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you". I would assume that is a physical place he was referring to. If God is a spirit, then why wouldn't his redeemed people become spirits and not need a place. If there is a new heaven and a new earth, then it seems that would mean the universe as we know it would cease to exist. That would suck for people who have paid off their mortgage, but perhaps a transfer of equity might be something to explore.
If God stays primarily in Heaven, I can't blame him. Earth isn't the place it used to be. Slapping a coat of paint on it and putting it on the market might not be such a bad idea. I doubt we will ever get our deposit back. After all, we have kinda trashed the place.
Lastly, some believe God is a cosmic consciousness that we can merge with in a Nirvana sense in a blissful state, but what happens when we die? Do we become part of that consciousness that exists outside of space and time? Do we exist forever in eternal ecstasy? Will there even be an us?
Sorry for my inquisitive mind, but I often tend to have a strained relationship with generalities. Maybe it's like asking where the internet lives. IDK.
Great Scott ..... what if God is the internet and we will all get sucked in through a portal when the hourglass runs out? If so, let's all agree to meet up in the new Sim City at an agreed place and laugh about all the good times on SF. I apologize for all the thoughts in my brain, it's a mess in there.
