White House Orders Use Of Behavioral Sciences To .....

The White House ordered the use of behavioral sciences to make access to government programs(agenda) easier. I think when the military or intelligence community uses behavioral science it's called psyops.

There have been studies and books over the last decade that say behavioral science can be used to "nudge" the public toward government programs. There was a 2013 memo: Strengthening Federal Capacity For Behavioral Insights. The British created a Behavioral Insights Unit in 2010 including the use of experimentation. A 2008 book called "Nudge" by American college professors said use of behavioral sciences could be used to 'nudge' the public toward government programs and policy.

We've already been exposed to Madison Ave who has used behavioral science for decades in their marketing techniques. You see them in commercials & advertisements all the time. It took more time than you think to pose a a nice juicy hamburger or shiny car. I keep on thinking of the subliminal advertising used at movie theaters with momentary single frame pictures of popcorn and soda.

Personally the government should present information in a very straight forward neutral manner. The politicians should be selling it, not the agencies who are there to serve, not sell.

A lot of subliminal advertising is considered a deceptive business practice by the Federal Trade Commission. Behavioral science used to convince or sell is using or runs dangerously close to subliminal advertising or deceptive business practices. I don't want to be sold a government program like a pack of cigarettes, a car, beer, burger etc. Nor do I want time and money devoted to it.

OPT out opt OUT opt out OPT out opt OUT

How things or choices are presented are mentioned in the executive order. Things like order, number or arrangement of options/choices.

DANGER SUBLIMINAL COERCION OPT OUT

One of things they might do is make more things automatic or mandatory with an opt out option only. One of the authors of the study/book and ex administration regulatory czar says like just giving people the default option although frequently more expensive would be a way to get more people to 'chose' certain things because most people are lazy and never bother to opt out. So unless one opts out the government will chose for them.

You know, googling the phrase "obama authorizes federal agencies to conduct behavioral experiments on U.S. citizens" brings up a list of websites that are created to attract those who are attracted to right-wing hype; click on the link below and check out the names of these sites:

It brings up some of the same topics as input first then some as you described from the more right side of politics. Either way it does sort of show that the way this government wants to run things is contrary to the way our government was designed. It was designed originally for the people to have their states and their congressmen tell the US central government how they would like things run. More from the bottom up and not old world top down style.

None of these statements make a bit of sense,as responses to my words that you quoted. But if you'd like to clarify I'd be willing to listen.

opt out of that opinion

Doesn't matter who 'might' be attracted to the story or not. The techniques and strategies are real. An example is this article even noted the naming of the Patriot and Freedom Act stemming from the Bush years after 9-11 used to disguise or dilute many of the measures that came with them. As I noted before Madison Ave or mainstream marketers have using these techniques for years. The book, studies and UK program mentioned can be searched. And one of the authors of the book Nudge worked in the administration

There is a reason they have PR people in government and the corporate world and it's not just to ease the volume of work. Their "message" is supposed to come across a certain with a desired outcome.

Also major news sites/paper such USA Today carried the story as did many others.

Leftist sites such as Huffington Post also carried the story with a different title & take but that information is still in the article.

But the executive order is the tip of the iceberg as pointed out and the tricks, gimmick or techniques of Madison Ave have been around for decades. There are books dating back to the 60s which really hit on things like subliminal advertising. Industries like big tobacco spent huge amounts on money on marketing for decades to sell back then dollar packs for a reason. Not all smokers or consumers fall for their gimmicks, some just do it. But many don't, especially the youth. Anything from the art work on the packaging to the commercials. Big tobacco is just one example.

OPT OUT is real and skirted around by many companies as we speak. I know someone who failed to read the fine print and did not opt out and wondered why their checking account was being tapped. They were slick putting automatic withdrawal at the top of the contract right under the required name and address part using a series of boxes. It is pretty well known most won't opt out just as many won't bother to use coupon or fill out rebate forms, the companies know this and exploit it.

Any comments and opinions not flattering the administration are not necessarily those of a right winger as are those opinion advocating it that of a leftist.

Why were they separated and shown as you did? And the last one is just how our government was designed to run and if you read the Constitution and other early on documents it is obvious that we were designed to have the people making the decisions, from lower levels upward, and not as dictations from the top down.

They all make sense if you read them correctly. Our government was designed to run from the peoples wishes and not from the political leadership of DC. Government was intended to be driven up from the lower levels and not from the top political levels down onto the people. That has always been the way things should be run in the US. We are not some European style of government at all. Even today the states can have their own ideas of what directions they wish to follow.

We really need to get rid of the two political parties that are now trying to run our government and give the government back to the people.

Personally, so should Fox News.

FOX NEWS has people from both liberal and conservative view points on their programs. Much better that some of the liberal only staff on some of the other, not doing so well, stations. We usually watch NBC for much of our news or if football or other sports take over we switch to ABC, CBS and seldom to MSNBC and others. We use FOX NEWS for a couple of pretty good question and answer types of programs. But little else on FOX NEWS.
