Yes, we gave direction to aliens as to where to find us. Why not give out your Internet site passwords to everyone? Why are we so anxious to find other life forms? Did some research. Below is a photo of the 2300 year old shoes. Still impressive in their workmanship, but not much of a resemblance to the ones in the meme.

I suspect that the rise of malls in the late 60s into the 70s had a bit to do with it. These days online shopping is giving malls the same treatment.
