Did you know Jazz Summers? We had a mutual friend.

You mean Jazz Summers who was married to Yazz ?..I didn't know him personally
Well, I didn't either. My friend knew him in France. There were interesting stories. Their kids were friends. I thought of him because of the music. She mentioned Wham and Badly Drawn Boy.

I'm not au fait with most music producers or managers... that wasn't the side of the business we worked in, altho' my husband worked on a few huge concerts at the Albert hall..... we generally made TV shows and occasional films

Sounds like fun!

I guess I am out of touch with the music of today. I don't know when it was I lost interest in pop music.
Now I prefer soothing classical music though my knowledge of it is certainly not that good.

How could anyone not know who this is?
Easy, with no children, and therefore no grandchildren, my wife and I are never exposed to any kind of music other than what we like.
You see her face everywhere.
Everywhere? News to me.
I don't listen to her music, but as a man, I do enjoy looking at her.

I have never heard her music either but there again given that I would be hard pushed to name any popular songs and singers of my youth, it's hardly surprising. Enjoy the lady's music and I will sit back and enjoy Kay Starr. Each to their own.

Taylor Swift is a woman, who, when she was a young girl, developed a talent to write catchy tunes that appealed to an audience of teenage girls. She started in the country genre but later moved to the pop scene and added a larger audience which had even adult men singing along to her tunes.

She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, a supportive family, and continued to ooze talent. Her love life became the subject of juicy gossip and her exes became the subjects of many of her songs.
At present, her music has matured and her millions of loyal fans, "Swifties", have stayed along for the ride.
Her net worth is well.........incredible.

She is loved and hated but either way she is one of those talents that comes along and just has all it takes to succeed.
She even wrote a song about a critic who hurt her feelings:

So, I give her respect.

I have seen photos of her, and she is definitely a stunning young lady, but I have not as far as I know heard any of her music.

She obviously appeals to a generation or two after mine and I wish her, and them, well.

Music didn't stop being good in 1980.
Of course not. It stopped being good about 1960.

Actually, I happened to watch one of Taylor Swifts videos when she first started out. It was a high school girl who stands at her locker and sees her boyfriend flirting with another girl, and I remember thinking, "Oh when I was sixteen I would have loved that." Taylor just exactly caught how it felt. I'm glad she's doing so well.

Having a 'Travis Kelce' in your life isn't too bad either .... He is one good-looking hunk!
They might be getting serious - they are talking about having kids.

A top NFL star, but he said that Taylor "Put him on the map" ...lol
