Despite his world wide popularity, Elvis never performed out side of the US and Canada? Why? I know the answer, do you ? Lets hear your reasons for this odd Elvis fact ?
Nope. He had his own jet passenger aircraft, with call sign NTCB. For Taking Care of Business, which was one of his slogans in the Las Vegas era. JIMB....maybe he didn't like to fly, I can relate to that.
Yes, I do. He only did three concerts in Canada... all in 1957 and then never crossed the border again. The Colonel wouldn't let him do international because he was not in the US legally and he needed to have eyes on Elvis at all times. Sounds creepy, but it is what it is.Despite his world wide popularity, Elvis never performed out side of the US and Canada? Why? I know the answer, do you ? Winner. The Colonel was an illegal in the USA. He was a Dutch citizen who jumped ship in NYC, and assumed a different identity . He had no passport, so he couldn't travel internationally.Yes, I do. Did Elvis know this about Parker, do you know? And if so, wonder why he continued the relationship/partnership?Winner. The Colonel was an illegal in the USA. He was a Dutch citizen who jumped ship in NYC, and assumed a different identity . He had no passport, so he couldn't travel internationally.
I hope u don't mind but I asked claude.ai this question. Here is the answer which I thought was fair and truthful.Did Elvis know this about Parker, do you know? And if so, wonder why he continued the relationship/partnership?
I am not a expert on the history of Elvis but on the surface it always seemed like they had a somewhat unhealthy codependent partnership. Hopefully someone who knows more about Elvis and the Colonel can say if this is correct. But that could be one of the reasons as others have stated.Did Elvis know this about Parker, do you know? have you noticed how those celebrities who had a co-dependant relationship on someone else.. rarely got to see old bones...I am not a expert on the history of Elvis but on the surface it always seemed like they had a somewhat unhealthy codependent partnership. From my understanding, Elvis signed a years-long contract he couldn't get out of that basically gave Parker control and/or ownership of just about everything, including Presley himself.Did Elvis know this about Parker, do you know? And if so, wonder why he continued the relationship/partnership?
Ahhhh.... well that makes sense. I wonder how Gladys felt about that? They were always so close and she seems to have been very protective (and rightly so... I think he needed someone watching over him to keep him away from those who would take advantage of him... but still Parker got close and controlled so much.) You should watch the 2022 movie "Elvis". Even if you're not a fan (I never was), it's a very good move and an engrossing story. I'm a fan of Tom Hanks....he plays the Colonel.Ahhhh.... well that makes sense. I wonder how Gladys felt about that? Also, Parker stood to earn way more money keeping Elvis in Vegas than he'd have earned from world tours, which are expensive.Ahhhh.... well that makes sense. I wonder how Gladys felt about that? The young actor who played Elvis was outstanding, both in terms of his physical appearance, and his singing ability. I agree that Tom Hanks aced the part of Tom Parker, both in physical appearance and his vile personality. JimBYou should watch the 2022 movie "Elvis". I think I remember that Parker stole a ton of money from Elvis...actual cash through legal means. Because Priscilla's dad wouldn't let him take her that far away from the front porch other than in the U.S and Canada. What was she? Fourteen?Despite his world wide popularity, Elvis never performed out side of the US and Canada? Why? I know the answer, do you ? Lets hear your reasons for this odd Elvis fact ?
Court records showed that Colonel Parker eventually took 50% of everything Elvis made. He even went so far as to negotiate power of attorney so that Elvis had no control over his own estate. In 1965, Colonel Tom Parker made $300,000 more than Elvis didI think I remember that Parker stole a ton of money from Elvis...actual cash through legal means. Do I remember right?
