Why the WAR ON DRUGS Has Failed, and NEEDS TO END!

I'm only 3 minutes into that SB and he's making more sense than I'm used to hearing.

He won me with...to paraphrase... 'Law enforcement was invented to protect people from others who would harm them. Now it is being used to protect them from themselves. It is being used to enforce authoritarian imposed morality .... etc. ' Nailed it!!

I've heard all he had to say and despite the best efforts of that extremely aggravating woman busting in with her inane comments, I am still of the opinion he's on the right track.

Peter Christ is a very smart man.

Slowly but surely this country is coming around. As he said, it just takes the education of the masses.

And I agree with Di - I wanted to slap that woman in the head every time she opened her mouth.

As with prohibition, the last people who'd want it legalised are the ones minting money out it, bootleggers and drug cartels. Maybe we should wonder about the income of the loudest exponents of the 'war on drugs'?? They could be moonlighting for the Columbians.

yeah yeah yeah I know, the 'nannies' would only ever be doing these things for our good..... anyway, it's the gubmint, and we all know they're only here to help us right?

We can't wage war on drugs because drug addition is a public health issue, not a national security issue.

By all means do everything possible to restrict the importation of illicit drugs and go after people who push drugs to children but also use all the weapons available in the armory of the health department to educate and rehabilitate people at risk. Drug test pilots and other people who hold the lives of others in their hands. But it is not a war.
