The Russians have never forgotten the USA beat them to the moon.;););)

If they are continuing to work with us until 2020; I don't think it means much, a lot will have changed in the world by then. Also, we are transporting things to the ISS ourselves; so it is not like the Russians are doing it all. I think it is just another "created news story" to keep people entertained, and distractd.
We have Space-X, the company created by Elon Musk , who also makes the Tesla electric car, and is the entrepreneur most responsible for developing Paypal. Space-X has the Dragon, which is already transporting provisions to the space station, and will also soon be able to transport humans as well.
So, maybe Russia knows that soon, we won't need them anymore, and are just using this as a way to save face as they exit out of the program.
Who knows what it is all truly about anymore....

Pretty sure they mean what they say unless something changes. And I can't see Russia changing anything. And by then, maybe we will have our own setup.

Did ya all know those engines on most of our own rockets that we launch are made in Russia...
